Study Coordinator -Somkhele at Africa Health Research Institute (AHRI)

Introduction    
AHRI is looking for a Study Coordinator who will be based at our Somkhele campus. Study Coordinator will be primarily responsible for the management and administration of the COVID-19 Test and Treat clinical trial under the direction of the Clinical Trial Unit Site Coordinator and the Principal Investigator.

Specification    
The incumbent will develop, implement, and coordinate research and administrative procedures for the successful management of the clinical trial. The incumbent will also, when required, provide clinical care to research participants and ensure clinical governance standards are met in line with Good Clinical Practice guidelines. The role requires a professional with comprehensive technical knowledge related to clinical trials, who has an efficient and systematic approach, with the capacity to grow, learn and multitask.

Requirements    

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Degree in Nursing or Clinical Medical Practice
• Valid registration with the appropriate professional body
• Computer Literacy
• Valid drivers license and a minimum of 2 years driving experience
• Fluency in IsiZulu and English

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE

• A minimum of 5 years recognizable clinical research experience
• Two/three years of experience in a clinical research management position.
• Previous experience in conducting clinical trials will be advantageous

ADVANTAGEOUS

• Experience in clinical trials.
• Experience in a research environment, familiarity with clinical research data collection
• Knowledge of current health and public service legislation, regulation, and policies.
