Supervisor – Cleaning Section at South African Airways Technical (SAAT)

Job Purpose

• Supervise cleaning staff in the performance of their duties of cleaning SAA Technical premises and all Customer aircraft ensuring a high-quality product

Principal Accountabilities

• Ensure safe working conditions for sub-ordinates
• Ensure that all cleaning duties are performed as per the schedule:
• Interior / Exterior of aircraft (SAA Fleet and customer aircraft)
• Aircraft Landing Gear Wash
• Hangars e.g. Floors/drip trays/stands
• Deep cleaning of aircraft components.
• Premises streets/hard stands/refuse removal etc.

Supervise sub-ordinates:

• Discipline
• Time control
• Authorise leave of sub-ordinates
• Provide on the job training as required
• Complete all relevant documentation and ensure compliance to policies, procedures and Regulatory requirements
• Ensure serviceability of all cleaning equipment and vehicle inspection
• Maintain daily occurrence book.
• Manage stocks and material to be issued to sub-ordinates.

Qualifications & Experience

• Grade 12 or equivalent
• Code B driver’s license
• Stacker License Advantageous
• 2 years’ experience in Aircraft interior/exterior cleaning or relevant experience.

Knowledge and Skills

• Have leadership quality
• Have good interpersonal skills
• Have knowledge of SAA Technical Policies and Procedures
• Have knowledge of Safety Standards regarding cleaning of aircraft (equipment and materials)
