Summary: The purpose of this role is to develop & maintain the architecture and capability for strategic insights. This will require streamlining and aligning data across Massmart Chains.

FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES

Data Analysis & Master data management

• Identify & understand relevant sources of data across Massmart Divisions
• Create a medium to channel relevant data from the Chains to drive Supply chain analytics. Work with Data management & IT teams to extract, clean and transform data.
• Make recommendation on new metrics, attributes, datasets, etc to support business intelligence requirements.
• Review & resolve data issues
• Implement data cleansing and improvement initiatives

Analytics & reporting

• Generate actionable reporting to support decision making – mining data to construct and organize information in a way that is easily consumed and actioned.
• Support the Executive & Strategy manager with Chain analytics – volume forecasts; demand planning; inventory health; sku assortment strategy
• Design, develop & execute reports & dashboards on KPIs, Supplier Performance & Chain Compliance Optimize reporting through use of cubes & OLAP. Schedule & Automate the distribution of reports.
• Develop plans for improving Business Intelligence at Massmart Supply Chain.

Exception Management & Prevention

• Identify & report on trends impacting inventory service levels, stock pipeline, ordering & distribution methods.
• Use predictive & regressive techniques to proactively identify & flag issues.
• Perform root cause analysis & provide insights into failures & constraints in the supply chain.

Training, development & support

• Drive an information rich culture across the division
• Ensure users (management & operational) are data and information literate…
• Lead the coordination between Massmart Supply Chain and divisional teams to ensure alignment and that reporting needs are prioritized and met.

Requirements:

• Relevant Undergraduate Degree/ Diploma

Qualifications & Experience

• 5 years’ experience in Supply Chain, Reporting required for this position Specialist knowledge: SQL, MS Access, Power BI, MicroStrategy Developer
