Sustainability and ESG Associate at Ovations Technologies

Purpose of Job

• The Asset Management team manages investment properties on behalf of third parties. The role involves strategic asset management, appraising new investment opportunities, managing investments, and working closely with development managers to deliver on projects from both an investment and ESG perspective. This position plays a key role in shaping and communicating the company’s sustainability strategy, working closely with the Investment and Fund Management and Student Accommodation teams, as well as other stakeholders across the business.

Key Responsibilities & Performance Indicators (KPAs & KPIs)

ESG/Sustainability Policy

• Draft, assess, and implement ESG policies and frameworks for Asset Management, Investment & Fund Management businesses, and the broader company.
• Develop appropriate ESG benchmarks and reporting systems aligned with best practices.
• Oversee the implementation of approved ESG policies, including data collection, benchmarking, and evaluation across business operations.
• Regularly assess and recommend improvements for ESG and sustainability policies and mechanisms.
• Stay informed on industry best practices and regulatory changes related to ESG, contributing to the development and communication of ESG policies.
• Ensure compliance with ESG practices and policies throughout the business.

Analysis and Reporting

• Prepare and manage ESG reports for portfolios under management to comply with policies, regulatory frameworks, and shareholder/investor requirements.
• Provide transparent, reliable, and measurable data on sustainable performance.
• Develop processes for efficient collection of ESG data for analysis and reporting.
• Perform investment research, financial analysis, and ESG-focused financial modeling for new investments.
• Track ESG risks and environmental impacts and ensure timely execution of initiatives.
• Communicate with stakeholders to address concerns and ensure ESG initiatives are met on time and to standard.

Asset Management General Assistance

• Assist with other asset management projects and investment feasibilities where needed.

Qualifications & Experience
Qualifications

• BCom (Hons) or BSc Property Studies (Hons) or higher qualifications.

Experience

• At least 3 years of experience in real estate, ESG strategy, reporting, and analysis, typically obtained in private equity, corporate finance, equities research, or asset management.
• Exposure to setting ESG policies and frameworks is preferred.
• Strong report-writing skills.
