Company Description

• We are currently recruiting for an energetic, innovative, driven Systems Engineer to join our team. The role is based at our Springs site and will report to the Site Engineering Manager.

Job Description

• Software development on PLC control systems.
• Development of production dashboards.
• Process data interpretation and presentation of key parameters.
• Machine and process automation.
• Maintain process Historian.
• Provide technical support for site control systems.
• Assist with the implementation of manufacturing systems.
• Responsible for contractor management.
• Ensure system documentation is maintained.
• Ensure assessment of risks relating to the execution of tasks are completed and mitigation is in place.
• To develop and implement short- and medium-term strategies to improve engineering availability.
• To ensure adherence to the maintenance plan.
• To ensure timeous repairs of breakdowns and according to standard.
• To ensure failures are investigated and actions are put in place to prevent re-occurrence. (Root cause failure analysis)
• To ensure legal compliance of all equipment according to the OHSAct 85 of 1993.
• Development and review of planned maintenance tasks for equipment to ensure a reliable operation.
• Assist production with technical fault finding and FMEA analysis.
• Evaluation of plant capacity and equipment performance for equipment.

Qualifications

• Required qualifications include:
  • B.Tech. Electrical Engineering: Instrumentation
  • BSc. Electronic Engineering: Instrumentation
• At least 5 years maintenance and project management experience within the manufacturing industry.
• Experience in programming and troubleshooting of Siemens PLC systems.
• Experience with the control and monitoring of OEM systems.
• Design, engineer, test and troubleshoot control systems.
• Experience in SCADA implementation, production rollout and industrial networks.
• Develop SQL server reports.
• Ability to write SQL queries on various database platforms i.e. Oracle, DB2 and SQL Server (desired).
• Programming in C++, HTML5 & JavaScript (desired).
• Good understanding in Hyper-V and Vmware environment (desired).
• Xamarin Mobile application development (desired).
