    Teacher Content Writer: Foundation Phase

    Description
    Location: South Africa (remote)

    Pay: $5.76 (USD) per hour

    Hours: 15 hours a week

    Contract: 6 months

     

    • We are looking for a highly organized individual who is passionate about the education system and helping those who teach in South Africa. As a primary school teacher content writer, you will be responsible for developing innovative resources to address the curriculum in South Africa specifically for grade 1-3 learning areas in English and Afrikaans. You may also be required to select, translate or adapt and edit existing resources to make them suitable for teaching within the CAPS curriculum. Twinkl is at an exciting time in its journey and the successful candidate will be key to ensuring that these ambitious plans become a reality!

    Your responsibilities will include:

    • Creating original and innovative content for grade 1-3 in line with the CAPS curriculum.
    • Selecting, translating and adapting other Twinkl resources in line with the South African curriculum for grade 1-3;
    • Create whole schemes of work specifically for phonics and numeracy within a South African classroom.

    Requirements
    Core Skills:

    • Fluent in English and Afrikaans - able to read, write and speak the language accurately.
    • Excellent English language knowledge;
    • Qualified teacher with CAPS training
    • Working knowledge of the South African Curriculum;
    • An exceptional eye for detail;
    • Thrives working in a change-focused and dynamic environment;
    • Strong computer and online skills,
    • Passionate about teaching;
    • Creative;
    • Proactive in improving and learning new skills.


    Soft Skills:

    • Is good fun to be with and has the ability to communicate well with others;
    • Is organized, able to work to deadlines, and manages time effectively;
    • Is able to communicate with colleagues and our external partners effectively, both written and verbally;
    • Has a hard work ethic, is passionate, driven and loves what they do;
    • Is honest, trustworthy and reliable;
    • Produces quality work and is ready to learn new skills;
    • Works well in a team;

    Qualifications & Experience:

    • Completed degree in Education (not TEFAL and specifically in the FP)
    • A minimum of 5 years of teaching experience in the FP in South Africa.
    • CAPS training
