Technical Operator at McCain Foods

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

The purpose of the Technical Operator is to responsible for the operation, maintenance and repairs of electrical and mechanical sorting equipment onsite. 

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

• Maintain equipment to not exceed OEM specifications.
• Inspect machines for faults and report on and repair faulty conditions.
• Minimize operational downtime through the safe and efficient operation of the equipment
• Ensure product quality through ongoing testing on equipment, and the implementation of corrective action where necessary;`
• Conduct pre and post sampling process to determine percentage defect removal for different types of defects (critical, majors and minors)
• Draw and record spares and breakdown details through SAP.
• Update and review critical spares requirements and report to Team Leader and Superintendent
• Complete all necessary paperwork related to equipment performance
• Ensure maintenance work is completed to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
• Ensure sorting area including equipment is in good stead.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum N4 nated qualification
• Valid trade test certificate ( Millwright)
• 5 years experience in manufacturing environment
• At least 1 year experience in a similar role will be advantageous
• Strong mechanical reasoning and problem solving skills
• Strong attention to detail in a fast paced environment.
• Ability to multi-task to simultaneously complete several projects on strict deadlines.
