Job Description

Job Summary: 

• We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Resident Engineer (RE) to join one of our Chlorine Manufacturing Clients in Gauteng, South Africa.
• The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing various engineering projects aimed at improving plant efficiency, safety, and production capacity.
• This role requires a proactive approach and a strong commitment to driving project success from conception through to completion.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage engineering projects to enhance plant operations and production processes.
• Develop project plans, including scope, budget, and timeline, ensuring alignment with plant goals.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to design and implement project solutions.
• Oversee as  the installation and commissioning of new equipment and systems.
• Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments for proposed projects.
• Ensure compliance with all safety, health, and environmental regulations throughout project execution.
• Monitor project progress, making adjustments as necessary to meet deadlines and budget constraints.
• Prepare and present detailed project reports to senior management.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the engineering team, including skills transfer
• Process analysis and process re-engineering expertise
• Build a Project Management Office , including governance, processes, procedures and systems

Qualifications

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management within the chemical or petrochemical manufacturing industry.
• Proven track record of successfully delivering engineering projects on time and within budget.
• Strong knowledge of chemical processing plants, processes and equipment.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure environment.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• ECSA Pr.Eng preferred. Pr.Tech minimum requirement (MEP)
