We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Resident Engineer (RE) to join one of our Chlorine Manufacturing Clients in Gauteng, South Africa.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing various engineering projects aimed at improving plant efficiency, safety, and production capacity.
This role requires a proactive approach and a strong commitment to driving project success from conception through to completion.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage engineering projects to enhance plant operations and production processes.
Develop project plans, including scope, budget, and timeline, ensuring alignment with plant goals.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams to design and implement project solutions.
Oversee as the installation and commissioning of new equipment and systems.
Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments for proposed projects.
Ensure compliance with all safety, health, and environmental regulations throughout project execution.
Monitor project progress, making adjustments as necessary to meet deadlines and budget constraints.
Prepare and present detailed project reports to senior management.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the engineering team, including skills transfer
Process analysis and process re-engineering expertise
Build a Project Management Office , including governance, processes, procedures and systems
Qualifications
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management within the chemical or petrochemical manufacturing industry.
Proven track record of successfully delivering engineering projects on time and within budget.
Strong knowledge of chemical processing plants, processes and equipment.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure environment.
