Job Description    

• Supporting the Technical Manager by running the day-to-day operations of the Specialised Application Chemicals laboratory.

Required outputs: functional

• Technical Support to Operations and Technical Sales Reps
• Provide technical support to operations (production and QC) in calculating and adjusting products where necessary during production.
• Investigate production non-conformances and customer complaints.
• Analysis and reporting on routine customer samples (Should be willing to travel)
• Chemical Analysis in Manufacturing Support
• To troubleshoot and verify problematic analytical methods and results.
• Analyse non-routine samples.
• To search, develop and optimize analytical test methods and equipment operational procedures for higher efficiency, precision and accuracy of results

Product Development Assistance

• Assist in the development of new products and optimisation of existing formulations as the need arises.
• Reformulate work-aways or disposal of redundant/slow moving and reject stock.
• Run day-to-day operations of the Specialised Application Chemicals laboratory
• Calibrations, housekeeping, laboratory sample organization

Qualifications & Experience    

• BSc Chemistry, BTech Analytical Chemistry, or equivalent.
• Experience in general laboratory organisation and management is essential.
• Experience in R&D and applications laboratory  (4 - 5 years)
• Vital to be proficient in Microsoft Office package: Word, Excel, Outlook
• Experience working on SAP would be advantageous
