Job Description

This role manages a team in a technical environment - disability claims assessment - with some individual deliveries and is individually accountable for achieving results through others, over periods of 3 months to one year. The candidate must have be experienced in disability claims assessment and preferably hold a medical or medically aligned qualification

• Responsible for the management of a unit of technical specialists (mostly role size M) in the CSOA Job Family in support of business objectives - namely medically qualified disability claims assessors who need to be managed
• Normal functions pertaining to management (people, production, customer and finance) apply, but in a technical environment.
• Team size would vary but would mostly be between 10 and 15 specialist staff.
• Also responsible for technical deliveries themselves (high level of technical knowledge in related field to their own staff) in terms of claims assessment; escalations and queries
• The candidate must be qualified to deal with complex disability claims and queries
• Technical skills would relate to a field within the CSOA ambit, i.e. product / process / MIS etc - specifically related to disab
• Carries responsibility to deliver on operational projects within field of expertise

Role requirements

• Completed medical / medically aligned degree, e.g. Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy.
• Disability Claims assessing experience
• Management experience will be advantageous.
