he role:

To perform maintenance effectively and creatively to maximize the availability of equipment at the lowest cost

The duties will include but are not limited to:

• Maintain, diagnose faults and repair instruments, equipment and systems, and install equipment and components according to specifications to ensure availability as per set limits
• The maintenance or repair of instruments / equipment / systems
• Ensure optimal asset life through application of good maintenance practices
• Coordinates activities associated with trouble-shooting and repairing maintenance equipment
• Accesses any area safely to perform necessary maintenance on equipment
• Test and commission equipment prior to handover
• Perform hands-on maintenance support during breakdowns and shutdowns

You will need:

• Grade 12 with Mathematics & Science / N3 Technical Certificate
• A relevant Trade Test
• A minimum of 3 years’ Maintenance experience as a qualified Instrumentation Technician
• Technical knowledge of the following - Motorola 2-way radios, code plugs development, WiFi radio link, setting up Routers, repeater installation and programming
• Knowledge of the following - Allen Bradley Control Logix PLC, SCADA, Leaky Feeder, Environmental Monitoring Equipment, Networking, Process Automation Scales, Vega Level and Pressure monitoring, Telecommunication and Camera Systems
• Valid Code 08 driver’s license
• Computer literacy and SAP
• In possession of a Certificate of Fitness or be able to obtain it
