Technologist in Charge: Clinpath - Grahamstown at Ampath

Purpose of Position:

To manage all activities in the Clinical Pathology Laboratory on a daily basis to ensure that set targets and objectives are achieved and maintain a high quality standard at all times.

Requirements:

• Certificate: Management,
• HPCSA Registration in Relevant Register and Practice Field  (Required),
• National Certificate: Medical Technician  (Required)

Required Experience:

• 5 years general experience in a Laboratory environment (Clinical Pathology experience),
• Advanced knowledge of instrumentation and methodologies.,
• Advanced understanding of pathology test procedures.,
• Knowledge: Basic Conditions of Employment Act (BCEA),
• Knowledge: Employment Equity Act (EEA),
• Knowledge: Google and Google Mail, Knowledge: MS Excel,
• Knowledge: MS Word

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain good client relations to promote the image of Ampath,
• Manage all quality control procedures in the laboratory in order to ensure best practices are upheld.,
• Manage all technical tasks in order to ensure efficient specimen flow in the laboratory,
• Manage and monitor laboratory staff in order to ensure that the goals of the department are achieved,
• Manage the Clinpath departmental budget in order to control expenses and ensure correct allocation of funds.,
• Perform operational management tasks in order to ensure operational priorities and initiatives that may be required,
• Process routine bench work in the laboratory in order to ensure efficient processing of specimens
