Technology Intern/Graduate at Media24 (Pty) Ltd

 What you’ll be doing…

This is a 12-month internship where you’ll do cool things like:   

• Learn new technology. Over here we use cloud platforms and AI technology – and we’ll show you how to get into it too.
• Work in collaborative teams. We have a bunch of smart people, who’ll teach you a thing or two. You’ll work in cross-functional teams to design, develop and implement AI solutions that address key business challenges.
• Develop AI projects. You’ll take part in the full lifecycle of AI project development, from initial concept and data collection to model training, evaluation and deployment. You’ll also develop and maintain scalable and efficient AI systems using a variety of programming languages and tools.
• Do research. You’ll stay abreast of trends by exploring new AI technologies and methodologies.

The official stuff…

This is an internship, so we don’t expect five years of work experience (in fact, we expect none!). But there are a few things we do need you to have such as:   

• A BSC Hons degree, electronics engineering or equivalent with Maths, Stats and Computer Science (or experience in programming) subjects and a minimum pass rate of 65%
• Second- or third-year maths and stats is preferred
• You must be a South African citizen
• The ability to implement and apply key AI algorithms and techniques
• Cursory knowledge of linear regression, logistic regression, random forests, boosted trees, multilayer perceptron would be ideal

• Passionate about the work you do and do it to the highest quality standards
• Interested in using analytical thinking to solve problems – and that you do it in an organised and meticulous way
• Comfortable with ambiguity
