Trackless Crew Leader - Modderfontein at Gold Fields Limited

Job Purpose:

• The Trackless Crew Leader is accountable for executing the safe and efficient delivery of assigned monthly production plan, leading operational teams to achieve prescribed safely goals and ensuring quality delivery according to operational standards.

Minimum Requirements:

• Matriculated or Equivalent with a recognized Blasting Certificate
• At least 5 years’ production experience in a deep level trackless mine with relevant TM3 equipment/machinery certificates
• Sound working knowledge of relevant Mine Health & Safety legislation
• Secure full Gold Fields Security and Related Occupational Screening
• Be declared medically fit for the position and environment, as determined by a risk-based medical examination at the Gold Fields Occupational Health Centre and pass a Heat Tolerance

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Providing and maintaining a safe environment with minimum risk to the health and safety of the crew
• Ensuring compliance to the Mines Health & Safety Act and related operational safety standards
• Accurate and timeous reporting of all relevant safety and production matters
• Promoting and developing team effectiveness within the department
• Ensuring that all relevant production targets are met continuously
• Taking accountability for proper discipline in the section
• Ensuring effective availability and utilization of equipment and materials
• Ensuring control of explosives and that planning and budget is controlled and applied correctly
