Transport Controller - Transpharm Isando at Shoprite Group of Companies

Purpose of the Job    

• To support and ensure that all drivers are properly trained, that they follow the regulations of the road, and that they adhere to the Company's procedures
• Assist with tracking of all company vehicles at all times

Job Objectives    

• Directing drivers daily to the correct premises of clients for the deliveries. 
• Ensuring that maps with the right directions to the customer's location are copied for drivers when they report to the office. 
• Ensuring that all vehicles and equipment are serviced within the allowed service intervals. 
• Ensuring staff under your control maintain a high level of service to customers. 
• Ensure maximum utilization of vehicles, planning of loads, routes, fuel, etc. 

Qualifications    

• Grade 12 qualification

Experience    

• 3 - 4 years of experience in Logistics/transportation industry 
• Experience in route planning and the management of collections and deliveries 

Knowledge and Skills    

Essential:  

• Good problem-solving, critical thinking and decision-making skills 
• Exceptional organization, time management and multitasking abilities 
• Proficient computer skills (MS excel; Office 365) 
• Great communication and interpersonal skills 

Desirable: 

• Knowledge of Trackmatic and Mixtelematics systems
