    Utility Manager

    ROLE POSITIONING AND OBJECTIVES

    • To manage the Heidelberg Factory Utilities within the Engineering Department, main duties are centered on the supply of Utilities Services (power, steam, air, vacuum, water etc.) to the Heidelberg factory site. Ensuring that manufacturing is maintained at maximum achievable levels and that system are representative of the business needs.

    WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR

    • Utilities Management – ensure 100% availability of utilities to end users with zero production loss through robust and well-managed operations and systems. Use of IWS methodology in ensuring driving a zero-loss journey.
    • Equipment Maintenance – develop and operate world-class maintenance functions for utility supply machinery. This encompasses maintenance performed by BAT staff, and the establishment and management of specific maintenance contracts (negotiation, monitoring, reporting etc).
    • Energy Management – Monitor and report on the usage of energy in all forms across the factory. This consists of fuels, electricity, compressed air, suction, and steam.
    • Set targets for the utility team and Utilities supply or consumption, review performance, develop and drive actions to close any gaps in performance
    • Ensure compliance with all Health and Safety legislation and Global BAT Guidelines
    • People Development – Identify, train, and develop the talent within the department
    • Delivering quantifiable improvements to the manufacturing and business process.
    • Reduction of utilities running costs – energy and maintenance costs

    ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND KNOWLEDGE

    • Minimum of B.Sc. in an Engineering field
    • GMR 2.1 certification - mandatory
    • Minimum of 7-10 years working experience in Engineering and/Utilities with at least 3 years in a related management
    • Understanding of general manufacturing process
    • Technical knowledge of the individual equipment including Boilers, Air Compressors, Generators, etc
    • Project management experience & Energy and water management
    • LEAN/ TPM knowledge
    • Budget setting and cost management exposure
    • Good communication and interpersonal skills
    • Use of IT tools and systems such as MS Office, MS Outlook, Internet, and Web tools
