    UX/UI Designer (Western Cape)

    Why this role matters 

    • As our UI/UX Designer, you'll work closely with product managers and developers, you will help shape the user experience of our products and services by designing simple, intuitive and user-centred digital experiences.

    What you’ll own

    • Design and deliver UI/UX solutions, from wireframes through to production-ready assets across web and mobile platforms.
    • Develop, maintain, and champion a shared design system and pattern library to ensure visual and functional consistency across all products.
    • Create interactive prototypes of varying fidelity to facilitate rapid user testing and iterative feedback cycles.
    • Conduct and analyse user research to uncover insights on behaviour, needs, and pain points that inform design decisions.
    • Collaborate with product managers, solutions architects, and developers throughout the product lifecycle to ensure design intent is accurately implemented.
    • Define, document and present flows for seamless developer handover.
    • Conduct peer design reviews, providing constructive feedback and contributing to the overall quality and consistency of the team's output.
    • Regularly audit existing products to identify and prioritise usability, accessibility, and consistency improvements.
    • Stay current with industry trends, tools, and best practices, including emerging AI-assisted design workflows: actively integrating relevant advancements into the team's approach to boost quality and productivity.
    • Contribute to design strategy and cross-functional decision-making by offering informed design perspectives in planning, presentation and review processes.

    Requirements

    Experience we’re looking for

    • Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Computer Science, or another relevant subject
    • A comprehensive portfolio with documented UI/UX case studies (required for application)
    • Minimum 2 - 5 years of professional experience in UI/UX Design
    • Highly proficient in Figma (required) and other relevant software (such as Claude Design, Framer and Useberry  (or similar))
    • Fully integrated with AI-assisted design tools and workflows (Figma Make, Claude Code etc.)
    • Demonstrable experience designing for complex, multi-platform products (wireframing through to high fidelity designs and working prototypes)
    • Proficient in planning, conducting, analyzing and applying user research
    • Experience working within cross-functional teams including product, engineering, and business stakeholders
    • Deep knowledge of UX design patterns, information architecture, and design-thinking methodology
    • Proficiency working in and maintaining design systems and component libraries
    • Strong understanding of development handover processes and ability to produce production-ready assets
    • Advantageous: an area of expertise in a UX niche such as interaction design, UX writing, data analysis, illustration, low-code etc.
