Vendor Manager at PCCW GLOBAL Limited

Specific duties include:

• Develop a comprehensive understanding of PCCW Global's network in Africa, including all backbone circuits and collocation deployments.
• Work proactively to manage the cost of existing network elements (capacity and collocation), including lease renewals and utilization efficiency.
• Support Product, Engineering and Presales for quoting and sourcing in-region capacity, access and collocation requirements.
• Support the new vendor vetting process, including gathering and submitting required documentation to establish the vendor in the procurement system.
• Develop and share in region market knowledge with Presales, Product and Sales.
• Provide "Tier 3" support to various internal teams (Service Delivery, Service Management, Operations, Finance, etc.) that are not receiving expected support from PCCW Global's active vendors.
• Qualify and support negotiations of new contracts with vendors.
• Manage contractual compliance and operational performance of vendors through formal vendor operations reviews.
• Support other cost reduction activities such as outage credits, tax and fee exemptions, discounts on renewals, vendor migrations, etc.
• Understand the largest vendors' profiles, including purchase and selling activities, operational reviews and other relationship-building activities.
• Support the Team Head in various reporting and project management matters, being attentive to detail and follow-up tasks.
• Build strong relationships with active vendors and potential new vendors.

Skills/Qualifications
Candidate should have experience and abilities as follows:

• At least 5 years’ experience in the telecommunications industry (preferably data)
• Moderate technical knowledge and understanding of process workflow
• Detailed oriented, well organized, team player with self-initiative and able to work under pressure
• Excellent analytical problem solving, communications and negotiation skills
• Good command of written and spoken English. 
• Proficient with Excel
• Strong business focus.
