Volunteer Crm Consultant for American Muslim Institution
American Muslim Institution (AMI) is requesting a consultant for the customized design of Salesforce CRM and the training of staff of its usage. The consultant will be responsible for migrating our existing data from Wave Accounting, Excel, Zoom, Paypal, Stripe, and Constant Contact into Salesforce. AMI needs a way to central all their constituent and donor data. As we increase in size, this infrastructure is absolutely critical to improve and increase our efficiency. Each spreadsheet is customed to the user and as such, not easily transferable without someone to explain the specifics, With Salesforce we expect the user experience to improve dramatically and compatibility within the aforementioned software we are using.
American Muslim Institution was founded to combat the extremely negative stereotypes and rhetoric that American Muslims have to face. A study showed that over 80% of the coverage on Muslims and Islam is negative and the organization was formed to combat those perceptions unfortunately perpetuated by the media, however not limited to the media. AMI has been building a network of American Muslim journalists and allies to provide readily correct information about Muslims and Islam, to provide subject matter experts when necessary, and to support more American Muslims to reclaim their narrative by supporting students interested in studying journalism, media, etc. AMI is based out of Washington DC. By working with journalists, we are also building a network platform for Muslim American journalists, no such platform exists.
The increased efficiency through using Salesforce would allow staff to focus more efforts on direct programmatic support and less time on administrative tasks. Pre-pandemic, we had intended to hire developers to help us with this integration, but due to budgetary constraints, AMI has held off. We have signed up from Salesforce's non-profit edition, which includes ten licenses, but have not been able to utilize them well due to a lack of training. Initially, we did enter our donor info into Salesforce, but as were managing more software and programs it became difficult to update. With this experience, we have realized that we truly need training and guidance.
We are committed to meeting with the consultant as needed to discuss our needs and to create and execute a plan.
