Warehouse/Logistics Manager - 12 Month Contract at Core Group

Key Responsibilities

Daily Warehouse Operations Management

• Oversee end-to-end processes including receiving, put-away, picking, and packing operations to ensure 100% order accuracy and stock efficiency.
• Maintain a clean, well-organized and safe warehouse environment.
• Implement and monitor Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to optimize processes and prevent bottlenecks.
• Coordinate with other departments (inventory, procurement, production, sales) to ensure smooth operational flow.

Customer Service & Stakeholder Engagement

• Build and maintain strong internal and external relationships with key stakeholders, including logistics providers and courier services.
• Collaborate with other departments to anticipate challenges, develop solutions, and improve delivery performance for customers.
• Ensure warehouse SLAs align with business goals and consistently exceed expectations.

People Leadership & Team Management

• Manage a team of warehouse staff and supervisors by motivating, developing, and setting high-performance standards.
• Provide training, mentorship, and performance reviews to ensure continuous improvement and staff development.
• Create a positive, engaging, and collaborative work environment to increase employee satisfaction and productivity.
• Handle workforce planning, shift scheduling, and ensure adequate staff coverage during peak times.
• Manage conflict resolution, foster teamwork, and drive accountability among team members.

Inventory & Stock Control

• Ensure inventory accuracy by implementing stock control measures, minimizing discrepancies, and preventing losses.
• Oversee daily stock counts, cycle counts, and reconciliation processes.
• Implement and enforce stock security measures to protect high-value items from theft or damage.
• Ensure compliance with all company policies for inventory tracking and auditing.

Export Control & Compliance

• Oversee the timely and accurate picking, packing, and shipping of export orders in accordance with regulatory requirements.
• Maintain up-to-date records of Bills of Entry and ensure proper documentation is filed for all export-related processes.
• Collaborate with logistics partners to resolve customs-related issues and ensure smooth international shipments.

Warehouse Operations Optimization

• Conduct regular inspections of warehouse equipment and facilities to ensure they meet operational and safety standards.
• Identify areas of inefficiency and propose improvement strategies to enhance performance.
• Engage with department heads to coordinate production and purchasing activities and optimize warehouse output.
• Review invoices, consumption reports, demand forecasts, and work orders to estimate peak delivery periods and allocate resources accordingly.

Qualifications and Skills

• Tertiary qualification in business administration, logistics or related field.
• Proven experience in retail channel management, sales, or business development and logistics.
• Strong negotiation and persuasion skills to build and maintain successful partnerships.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly.
• Strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and guide cross-functional teams.
• Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
