Website Developer, responsible for the coding, design, layout, SEO and marketing of our websites in accordance with company specifications.

As the role takes into consideration user experience and function, a certain level of both graphic design and computer programming is necessary. Once websites have been completed, ongoing maintenance, upkeep, additions, SEO & AdWords management will form most of the ongoing responsibilities.

Job Description

The desired candidate must have experience in the planning and the delivery of web applications across multiple platforms.

• Writing efficient code

• Creating websites & manipulating WordPress themes using standard HTML/CSS practices

• Plan & implement digital marketing advertising and initiatives to draw traffic to the websites

• Constant communication with other colleagues in the business to develop and deploy their content – and ensuring there is a clear establishment of what can be created within what timeframe

• A solid understanding of how web applications work including security, session management, and best development practices

• Adequate knowledge of relational database systems, Object Oriented Programming and web application development

• Implementing contingency plans in case the website goes down

• Maintaining and expanding/enhancing the website once built

• Creating custom Apps and other website integrated custom software and plugins

Qualifications

Knowledge & Experience in the following is a requirement:

• HTML/XHTML, CSS, JavaScript

• Server architecture

• Experience with server-side frameworks such as python, ruby, php, Java, ASP, ASP.NET

• Experience with database systems such as SQL and Oracle

A Bachelor’s degree in the following subjects would be beneficial:

• Computer Science

• Computing
