Welder / Stock Controller at AMMEGA

Job Functions (Areas of Accountability):

Welding Workshop:

Equipment

• Ensure all equipment is in a safe working condition
• Report any damaged equipment or unsafe conditions to the Health and Safety Representative immediately

Workshop:

• Assist with all incoming welding jobs, cutting and supplying of chain
• Supervise the workshop storeman to ensure work is conducted correctly and safely
• Quality control – ensure that all work is of good quality before leaving the workshop

Warehouse operations:

Operate Effectively

• Check stock information
• Receive and verify stock
• Record relevant information

Safety, Health & Environmental Standards

• Identify health and safety issues and report to the safety rep
• Health and safety equipment must be available and ready for use
• Incidents / accidents are prevented by effective operating of equipment and machinery, and by following health and safety procedures
• Health and safety procedures are adhered to and updated as laid down by legislation
• Ensure a safe and clean work area

Stock:

Returned Stock:

• Receive returned stock and ensure that stock is in the supplied condition.
• Consolidate stock back into store once a credit note has been passed / when instructed to. 
• Conduct a physical check
• Consolidate all variance reported by warehouse staff and advise Logistics

Stock Control: 

• To keep tight control of stock in warehouse
• Verify stock reports as to what is in store
• Check shipments and sign off. Report variances to Logistics.
• Assist warehouse staff in locating missing stock on picking slips.

Stock Take (Cycle counts) – Performed Daily and Monthly

• Receive notification from manager as to date of stock take one week in advance
• Receive stock take report from logistics
• Check and record quantities of stock

Job Requirements:

Education

• Matric / Grade 12
• Valid, unendorsed SA Driver’s License
• Welding qualification / course
