RPO Recruitment’s client, well-established consulting firm based in Johannesburg is seeking a Senior Mechanical or Civil Engineer to join its growing team as soon as possible. This role is suited to a capable and adaptable engineer with strong hydraulics (water) design experience and exposure to wet services and/or fire engineering.
The successful candidate must demonstrate strong engineering judgement, problem-solving ability, and a willingness to learn and grow within the fire engineering space.
Requirements:
BEng or BSc in Civil or Mechanical Engineering preferred
Minimum 8 years’ engineering experience at a senior level
Strong experience in hydraulics (water) design, including: booster pump systems, drainage systems, hot water plant designs
Understanding of wet services and fire protection systems
Exposure to rational designs and fire sprinkler systems advantageous
Retail project experience within wet services, fire engineering, or HVAC beneficial
Familiarity with (previous reference to) SANS 10252 Parts 1 & 2 (Water & Drainage), SANS 10400 T (Fire), SANS 10400 P (Plumbing)
Pr Eng registration or close to registration advantageous but not essential
Proven employment stability
Valid driver’s licence and own vehicle (site visits required)
