Jhpiego’s techn... read moreical focus in South Africa has been on HIV/AIDS, family planning, reproductive health, cervical cancer prevention, and newborn and pediatric care in support of National Department of Health (NDOH) and Provincial Departments of Health initiatives.
Jhpiego has a preferred partnership with JPS Africa (formerly known as Jhpiego South Africa), a registered Section 21 nonprofit company in South Africa. Based in Pretoria, JPS Africa currently implements a program in collaboration with Jhpiego to prevent HIV among the populations of underserved districts in South Africa by scaling up safe, comprehensive voluntary medical male circumcision services.
Under the USAID-funded Maternal and Child Survival Program, Jhpiego is also developing a partnership with the Nelson Mandela Children’s Hospital Trust to support training and mentorship for specialized pediatric nursing in the new hospital currently under construction.
