Where?
We provide care in 69 care homes in Lincolnshire, Oxfordshire, Gloucestershire and Wiltshire, with one home located in Arundel, West Sussex. We also offer a domiciliary care service in 14 extra care housing schemes in Oxfordshire, Wiltshire and Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk. We employ approximate... read morely 4,000 staff and support over 3,500 residents.
What?
Our residents are at the heart of everything we do and their well-being is paramount. We pride ourselves on delivering care to the highest standards. We believe in person centred care. This means we try to learn as much as possible about each individual who lives with us so that we can provide them with care and support tailored to their particular needs and preferences. We also believe that our residents and day care visitors should enjoy life in an atmosphere of warmth, harmony and understanding, being cared for by people who appreciate their need for privacy and who will respect their dignity and freedom of choice.
How?
OSJCT is all about people. Everything we do reflects our caring ethos, from our recruitment practices through to the care we deliver each and every day to the people living in our homes and extra care housing schemes.
The quality of our service has been accredited by the National Care Forum, through its "Quality First" framework. We are very proud to have achieved this recognition, which demonstrates our absolute commitment to providing excellent care for our residents.
We recognise that the requirements and expectations of the people living and working with us are changing all the time. We constantly review and monitor our services to ensure we are delivering the care and support that people need, in the way that they expect to receive it.
In order to achieve that, our staff need to be properly equipped. As an organisation, we are committed to providing all of our staff with the best possible training opportunities for the benefit of our residents, to promote career progression and encourage personal development.
We strive to remain at the forefront of innovative practice and care delivery. To that end, we have built and continue to develop relationships with leading clinicians and academics. As an example, working closely with Dementia UK, we were among the first care providers to employ our own specialist Admiral Nurses and have been leaders in exploring other innovative ways of caring for people living with dementia, such as themed destination areas, meaningful activities and reducing the use of anti-pyschotic drugs wherever possible.
We are also undertaking an extensive development programme, working in partnership with local authorities, Clinical Commissioning Groups and other stakeholders to ensure that our residents and staff can live and work in a modern environment and can benefit from the latest care aids, equipment and technology.
