What you’ll do: 

• Minimize equipment under repair & awaiting inspection.
• Comply with Aggreko servicing schedules and procedures. 
• Ensure all equipment is prepared for hire in compliance with Aggreko ‘Green Card’ procedure.
• Ensure all work performed reports are approved by client (on site) and are legibly produced.
• Ensure immediate response and minimal disruption to client’s requirements.
• Ensure good housekeeping of work area and service vehicle.
• Maintain a minimum spares level in service vehicle as per procedures.
• Effective troubleshooting to minimize downtime and unnecessary repair costs.
• Customer satisfaction externally & internally.
• Compliance to QHSE & ISO 9000 Policy and Procedures.
• Compliance with 24-hour call – out policy.
• Reporting all utilized stock items form depot stores.
• Ensure all installations are carried out to Aggreko service manual standards.
• Ensure quality of workmanship to maintain and enhance performance of equipment.
• Reporting on competitor activity visible on customer’s site(s).
• Maintain and enhance relationships and communication on site with client.
• Report any fuel spills, incidents, or issues within the policy of QHSE.

• Previous Experience with Cummins/Iveco/Scania Diesel Generator engines.
• Preference to candidates with AC & DC Loadbank and HV experience.

What you’ll do: 

Hardware: 

• Installation of control panels, junction boxes, marshalling panels, SCADA & PLC panels.
• Installation and termination of controls network cabling including site scada ethernet cables, fibre optic cables, patch cords, serial cables etc.
• Installation and control wiring of device instrumentation, genset controllers, comms and protocol converters, and other site instrumentation such as valve actuators, level, temperature, pressure sensors and transmitters.
• Installation of telemetry-based devices.
• Setup and configuration of SCADA station, servers, etc.

Software & Networks:

• Configuration of SCADA software applications (Rockwell FactoryTalk or any other)
• Configuration of PLCs (Omron, Siemens, Schneider, Codesys etc)
• SCADA and PLC software programming and application development.
• Interface and configuration of gas, diesel, HFO generator asset controllers (Deif, Deepsea etc)
• Comms configuration for LV / HV / EHV transformer & switchgear relay & intelligent devices
• Configuration of LFO and HFO fuel ancillary and control equipment
• Instrumentation configuration of level & pressure transmitters, motorized valve actuators.
• Configuration of communications protocol gateways & converters (Modbus TCP – Serial, CANbus, Profinet, Profibus, IEC61850, DNP3, BACnet).
• Configuration of RTU comms gateway devices.
• Configuration of fuel & electrical energy instrumentation such as mass flow meters, fuel quality meters.
• Computer and control network device configuration in LAN, WLAN, VLAN systems and firewall configuration.
• Configuration of cellular and broadband based network routers & switches, and telemetry units
• Configuration of managed network switches connected in ring / star topology.
• Troubleshooting and fault-finding control networks and devices.
• Documentation & Communication:
• Carry out controls training for onsite operator staff and personnel.
• SCADA / PLC commissioning documentation.
• Produce standard work instruction.
• Report writing.
• Customer facing and interaction.
• Liaising and dealing with various controls systems integrators and onsite subcontractors

We’re experts, which means you’ll have the following skills and experience:

• Minimum 3 years field experience & onsite work environment.
• Industrial electrical & controls background within power generation, energy, mining sectors
• Ability to read single line, electrical, instrumentation wiring diagrams and drawings.
• Computer LAN and ethernet based systems.
• Experience with industrial controls protocols such as Modbus, Profinet, Profibus, IEC61850, DNP3 etc.
• Experience with SCADA & PLC based control applications & development including fault finding, troubleshooting.
• Computer literate.
• Proficient with the Microsoft office suite of applications, Teams etc.
• Proficient with the Windows OS.
• Good organization and time management skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Preferred, 

• Experience in generator control
• Solar and battery energy storage systems.
• Software coding & programming experience in C++, Python, SQL, VBA etc.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree with 2 years Electrical / Electronic Engineering with high focus on control system design and process instrumentation and SCADA/PLC programing. Experience in power system will be a good advantage.
• National Diploma with 4 years Electrical / Electronic Engineering with high focus on control system design and process instrumentation and SCADA/PLC programing. Experience in power system will be a good advantage.
