    Enrolled Nurse Auxiliary

    Summary

    • The Enrolled Nurse Auxiliary is responsible for direct and/or indirect nursing care of a patient or group of patients and functions under the direct and/or indirect supervision of the Registered Nurse in accordance to hospital standards and policies. As a Professional Practitioner, the incumbent also is responsible for and is held accountable for his/her own acts and omissions. The Enrolled Nurse Auxiliary will be responsible for the assessment and care of the needs of patients and will be responsible for the development, implementation and evaluation of appropriate programmes of care, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care to patients/report potential/ actual risks identified, ensure all stock is well controlled and managed.

    Requirements

    • Registration with the South African Nursing Council as an Enrolled Nurse Auxiliary
    • Compliance with the SANC code for an Enrolled Nurse Auxiliary and all applicable health care legislation

    Work Experience

    • +/- 3 Years working experience in same position
    • Relevant experience in the nursing discipline
    • Theatre experience essential
    • Working experience in private healthcare or healthcare funding industry will be advantageous

    Knowledge

    • Nursing standards
    • Computer Literacy essential
    • Capacity to implement and maintain standards of health practice required from all accredited bodies and appropriate health legislation

    Bill Auditor

    Summary

    • The Bill auditor will be responsible for assessing patients’ files for accurate accounting with scale of benefits and ARM Contracts, assisting the Quality Review & oversee the bill audit process.

    Requirements

    • Grade 12 or equivalent NQF level 4 qualification
    • Nursing qualification advantageous
    • 3 years working experience in the same position

    Work Experience

    • Working experience in private health or health care funding industry will be advantageous
    • Working experience on SAP will be advantageous
    • Previous Billing Auditor experience will be advantageous
    • Intermediate computer skills (Excel and Word)
    • Excellent Interpersonal and communication skills
    • Minimum three years’ experience using Scale of Benefit and ARM
    • Assessment of patients’ files to ensure that all surgical, ethics, gases and equipment are recorded on account as per actual use
    • Assessing of accommodation

    Knowledge

    • Application of ARM contract
    • Effective auditing of ICD and CPT codes and accounts
    • Cope well under pressure
    • Work late on month end or as requested by Patient Service Manager
    • Ensure that all accounts pertaining to specific months are billed and unbilled cases are monitored
    • Manage the medikredit screen
    • Manage the billing rejection with TAT
    • Monitor the number of accounts billed per day and the values thereof on a tracker report
    • Cross walk equipment’s invoices from creditors to maintain correct billing
    • Active participate as a member of team to achieve goals
    • Active involvement in own professional development to maintain a satisfactory level of skills and knowledge
    • Keep up to date with evolving policies and procedures
    • To oversee the file assessor within the department\

    Unit Manager- Maternity and Paeds

    Summary

    • The Unit Manager will be responsible for coordinating Quality Nursing Care by ensuring compliance to professional and ethical practice. The incumbent will be accountable for coordinating training, development and mentoring of staff in the Unit. The incumbent will be expected to apply and manage the best and most effective operational practice by focusing on the integration of people, technology and financial drivers in ensuring that Unit costs are maintained within budget

    Requirements

    • A relevant nursing qualification (Diploma in General Nursing/ B Cur Degree) or equivalent NQF 7 qualifications
    • Registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Registered Nurse
    • Registered as a Midwife
    • Advance midwifery & Neonatology will be advantage
    • Compliance with the SANC code for a Registered Nurse and all applicable health care legislations
    • A relevant qualification in Critical Care Nursing will be advantageous
    • A relevant Management Qualification will be advantageous

    Work Experience

    • At least five (5) years relevant experience
    • Relevant experience in Management and Clinical Leadership is required
    • Maternity and Paediatric working experience is essential

    Knowledge

    • Administer and supervise thus ensuring standards for quality nursing care are met in the unit, evaluate on an ongoing basis and take appropriate action
    • Monitor and enforce standards, procedures and staff performance
    • Manage unit activities including irregularities and policy violations and take corrective and follow-up action
    • Perform clinical instruction as necessary
    • Control drugs as per regulations of the Pharmacy Act (Act 53 of 1974), perform checks on drug totals and drug registers and ensure that procedures and recording are adhered to
    • Rationalise and control emergency stock
    • Stock control
    • Monitor and manage staff attendance and ensure coverage of the unit at all times. Allocate staff, based on workload and level of competence ensuring optimal staff usage and maintaining the stability of nurse/patient ratio
    • Promote and maintain good working and interpersonal relationships with management, patients, staff, doctors and colleagues. Coordinate the activities of all hospital departments to provide uniformity of direction
    • Demonstrate professional ethics and leadership qualities. Maintain standards and conduct to the South African Nursing Act and SANC Regulations
    • Conduct frequent ward rounds and provide top-quality, customer-centric service
    • Ensure processes are in line with the working procedures and policies of Busamed

    Registered Nurse
