    Minimum Requirements    

    • N3 Relevant Trade Subjects (Essential/Minimum)
    • N4: Engineering Relevant (Essential/Minimum)
    • Trade: Relevant MQA/QCTO (Essential/Minimum)
    • Certificate First Line Management (Essential/Minimum)
    • N Dip: Engineering (Recommended/Desirable)
    • 3-5 years of relevant maintenance experience in a Plant/Mining environment (Essential/Minimum)
    • Psychometric Assessment (Essential/Minimum)(To be conducted by Exxaro)
    • Certificate of Fitness (Essential/Minimum) (To be conducted by Exxaro)
    • Wireman's License (Essential/Minimum)

    Duties & Responsibilities    

    • Ensure full compliance with legal requirements, health, and safety standards as per the Mine Health and Safety Act to promote a safe working environment.
    • Lead and manage subordinates by demonstrating visible and transformational leadership behavior that motivates and encourages enhanced performance and operational efficiency.
    • Drive Research and Development (R&D) initiatives to pave the way for Continuous Improvements (CI), thereby boosting performance and optimizing plant or mining activities.
    • Oversee the coordination of first-line maintenance to minimize downtime, ensuring that maintenance targets and operational efficiency goals are achieved.
    • Supervise preventative maintenance of plant machinery and infrastructure systems to limit equipment failure and sustain optimized production processes.
    • Maintain effective internal and external stakeholder relations to meet business objectives, including managing communications with external providers or other responsible functions.
    • Promote adherence to strong housekeeping standards and ensure thorough execution during plant shutdowns to maintain compliance and operational excellence.
    • Constantly evaluate and initiate hazard control programs by conducting safety audits and implementing corrective measures to ensure the health and safety of the workforce.
    • Foster an innovative and inclusive environment that values diverse skills, embraces multiple approaches, and leverages entrepreneurial abilities to achieve quality-driven results.
    • Address potentially hazardous situations promptly by adhering to safety practices and utilizing Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) steadfastly to maintain a safe working environment.

    Minimum Requirements

    • 8 - 10 years experience within a mining environment, with a focus on regulatory compliance and data management (Essential/Minimum)
    • Operational mining or plant exposure with data-related experience such as data quality management, enterprise data strategy and regulatory compliance (Essential/Minimum)
    • Proven ability to lead data transformation initiatives in complex environments (Essential/Minimum)
    • Strong understanding of legal and regulatory requirements in a mining context (Essential/Minimum)
    • Experience working across business and IT functions to support decision-making through reporting, analysis, and modeling (Essential/Minimum)
    • Certificate of Fitness (Essential/Minimum)

    Duties & Responsibilities    

    • Develop and implement data governance frameworks and controls to ensure data is managed as a critical organizational asset.
    • Define and enforce data policies, standards, and controls in compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational needs.
    • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance and data governance across diverse business models.
    • Drive accountability among business stakeholders and provide oversight for data accuracy and consistency across the enterprise.
    • Lead version control practices and data transformation initiatives to enhance data management practices.
    • Collaborate with Risk & Compliance to identify and mitigate risks related to data governance and implement corrective actions.
    • Coordinate data retention and archiving policies in alignment with legal and regulatory requirements.
    • Promote a culture of accountability through training, communication, and cross-functional alignment of data governance practices.
    • Monitor data quality metrics and provide insights to support remediation efforts where necessary.
    • Ensure compliance with data protection, privacy, and security regulations, including POPIA and GDPR.
