    Registered Nurse -Nurture Cape View

    ABOUT THE ROLE

    • The Nurture Healthcare Group requires a Registered Nurse who will be based at our Nurture Cape View physical rehabilitation facility, reporting to the Nursing Manager.

    REQUIREMENTS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS/TRAINING

    • Grade 12 with the relevant nursing qualifications
    • Registered with the South African Nursing Council
    • 3 years or more experience as a Registered Nurse within a high care environment
    • Rehabilitation experience is an advantage

    Physical Rehabilitation Therapy Manager at Nurture Worcester

    ABOUT THE ROLE

    • As the Therapy Manager, you will be responsible for leading and managing the interdisciplinary therapy team (including physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy), ensuring optimal clinical outcomes and the delivery of person-centred, evidence-based rehabilitation care. This role requires a balance of clinical leadership, operational oversight, and team development, with a focus on quality improvement and patient satisfaction.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Provide strategic and clinical leadership to the therapy team.
    • Coordinate and monitor patient treatment plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
    • Use data to measure therapy outcomes and implement improvement initiatives.
    • Ensure all therapy services meet internal policies, external regulations, and accreditation standards.
    • Lead and support professional development and performance of therapy staff.
    • Collaborate with nursing, medical, and support teams to provide integrated care.
    • Engage with patients and families to promote participation in therapy and long-term wellness.
    • Set measurable objectives and tasks to improve function and quality of life according to ICF framework. 

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

    • Up-to-date registration with the HPCSA (independent practitioner) as a Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist.
    • Proven experience in the rehabilitation of neural, orthopaedic, and spinal-cord injuries.
    • Previously managed a team comprising of more than 5 people.

    • As the Occupational Therapist, you will focus on hands-on clinical care—assessing each patient’s functional needs, designing evidence-based treatment plans, and guiding them toward greater independence in everyday activities. You will contribute your expertise to an interdisciplinary team committed to person-centred rehabilitation and measurable, high-quality outcomes.

    EQUIREMENTS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS/TRAINING

    • Bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy with community-service year completed
    • Registered with the HPCSA as an independent practitioner and covered by malpractice insurance
    • CPD portfolio up to date in line with HPCSA standards
    • Bobath / Neuro-Developmental Treatment (NDT) training an advantage
    • Basic or intermediate wheelchair assessment/prescription skills beneficial
    • FCE training beneficial
    • Driving assessment training beneficial
    • Keen interest in both paediatric and adult neurological rehabilitation
    • Minimum 3 years’ experience in neurology, cognitive therapy, and spinal-cord injury care
    • Broad clinical exposure, including orthopaedics, SCI, and neurology
    • Collaborative mindset and enthusiasm for working within an interdisciplinary team
    • Valid driver’s licence and reliable own transport

    KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

    • Knowledge of the ICF Framework
    • Good written and spoken English language skills (Afrikaans and Xhosa will be advantageous)
