The Opportunity
- Arup’s Façade practice is an enthusiastic, energetic, multi-disciplinary team of designers working with Building Envelopes focused on creating sustainable solutions and effective interventions. It includes engineers, technical specialists, building physicists and architects, all of whom share a passionate interest in building envelope design.
- We have an opportunity for a talented Facade Engineer to join our team in Johannesburg.
- The successful candidate will become a permanent member of our creative, friendly, international team and will work on some of the most exciting buildings in the world including international airports, high rise commercial and residential towers, prominent buildings in cities and international stadia.
In this role you will:
- Develop excellent façade solutions in collaboration with other façade specialists and see these through from concept through tender documents, and mock-ups and testing to fabrication and installation.
- Develop façade designs, prepare details, study materials and systems and contribute to specifications. In later stages of the project, you will be part of a team reviewing the contractor's design submissions and undertake inspections of fabrication and installation. The role will also include the inspection and investigation of existing buildings.
