    OHS (Occupational, Health & Safety) Officer - Polokwane

    Minimum Requirements:

    • National Diploma/3-year Degree in Safety/Occupational Health and Safety.
    • A minimum of 3 years of relevant OHS experience.
    • Solid understanding of OHS regulations, including the OHS Act, SANS regulations, Water and Pollution Act, and Environmental Act.
    • Strong relationship-building, listening, and interpersonal skills.
    • Proficient in Excel.

    Duties and Responsibilities    

    Design and Implementation:

    • Develop and implement new risk policies and procedures.

    External Relationship Building:

    • Liaise with external parties for OHS reports, including the Department of Labour, Fire Department, and Health Department.

    Risk Identification and Evaluation:

    • Identify and evaluate risks within the OHS Act, building regulations, insurance requirements, and SA national standards regulations.
    • Stay updated on changes, new regulations, and acts.
    • Conduct physical site inspections, complete checklists, and gather evidence.
    • Investigate incidents on an ad hoc basis.

    Compliance and Risk Management:

    • Maintain a comprehensive risk register.
    • Update the risk register weekly based on findings, risks identified, and implementations.
    • Identify contractors appointed by Boxer and ensure the acquisition of a letter of good standing before commencement of work.
    • Report on risks, liaise with relevant internal and external departments.
    • Document findings, make recommendations, obtain management responses, and conduct follow-ups on implementation.

    • Provide hands-on training for new OHS appointments.
    • Plan and manage own workflow, anticipating obstacles and juggling priorities.
    • Share, debate, and communicate findings with the team.

    • Demonstrate mentoring and coaching skills, as well as conflict resolution abilities.

    Head of Department (HOD) - Imports, Confined Labels, and Project Analytics

    Minimum Requirements    

    Qualifications and Experience:

    • Imports, product development and food technology experience is mandatory, relevant qualifications would be beneficial
    • Strong financial and analytical acumen is mandatory
    • 3 – 5 years management experience in leading a team
    • MAC experience is advantageous
    • Must be advanced in MS Excel and PowerBi is advantageous
    • Strong understanding in imports and food legislations is non-negotiable

    Duties and Responsibilities    

    • Direct Imports – Manage the team who are responsible for:
    • Execute direct imports projects, validating Ship Shape system/SARS/Transnet processes pre-implementation.
    • Collaborate with Legal to draft and validate import agreements.
    • Monitor, check, and approve consignment insurance.
    • Validate and process payments for import permits, quotas, and courier services
    • Handle and resolve import claims with relevant providers.
    • Lead PNP information requests and cost-saving initiatives for imports, as well as spearhead SARS and internal audits.

    Confined Label - Manage the team who are responsible for:

    • Develop innovative category strategies and products annually to drive growth.
    • Monitor and approve confined label final artwork, ensuring compliance.
    • Validate high-level performance reporting for confined labels.
    • Take charge of PNP information requests and risk assessment updates for the store and services division.
    • Lead internal audits, providing feedback and updates to enhance operational efficiency.

    Analytics - Manage the team who are responsible for:

    • Oversee the progress of allocated IT projects and manage relevant analytical initiatives.
    • Validate high-level performance reporting and ensure consistency in decision-making procedures.
    • Lead annual updates of policies and procedures, spearhead succession planning efforts, and evaluate the effectiveness of implemented plans.
