    Production Inspector (JHB)

    Description

    • Monitor the different aspects of maintenance to ensure it is in line with CAA regulations, and Safair manuals;
    • Perform random checks of parts that are installed, or removed, on Safair aircraft focusing on labelling, tags, traceability etc.;
    • Ensure that they meet the guidelines in the Safair manual and CAA regulations;
    • Responsible for certifying technical inspections of aircraft and their components parts and systems;
    • Perform random audits of on-site equipment, tooling, including calibrated precision test equipment;
    • Submit reports in line with procedures, including documentation of any defects or unairworthy conditions as specified by Safair protocols;
    • Ensure parts are scrapped in accordance with scrap part program;
    • Monitor aircraft airworthiness and return the aircraft to service in accordance with CAA regulations;
    • Identify safety concerns, issues, incidents or hazards that should be reported and report them whenever possible;
    • Perform random audits of on-site equipment, tooling, and calibrated precision test equipment;
    • Conduct audits on safety practices to ensure adherence to company standards and regulations;
    • Perform random audits on maintenance paperwork to verify compliance with company documentation requirements;
    • Conduct random ramp inspections and visual / functional inspections on aircraft and components during all phases of maintenance, including major, minor, and line maintenance, providing detailed reports of findings.

    Requirements

    • Grade 12 or Equivalent (Essential);
    • Trade certificate as an Aircraft Technician (Essential);
    • AME license holder on the B737-400 and B737-800 (Beneficial);
    • 10 years’ relevant experience (Essential);
    • Aircraft type, on type (Beneficial);
    • Experience using electronic maintenance tracking programs such as SAM/ flow centric;
    • Willing to travel;
    • Flexible working hours to support the 24hr operation;
    • Be able and willing to work outdoors on aircraft ramp and hangar side.

    Senior Certified Aviation Technician Mechanical (DBN)

    Description

    • Conduct line maintenance inspections;
    • Ensure quality is built in on Pre-Flight, Post Flight and transit inspections performed;
    • Performing routine and non-routine inspections and maintenance on aircraft to ensure they meet the highest safety and operational standards;
    • Conduct routine inspections on various mechanical systems on the aircraft;
    • Conduct fault finding and rectify based on the fault;
    • Perform A-checks including weekly service checks;
    • Perform thorough daily inspections of the aircraft to identify any potential issues or defects;
    • Conduct necessary maintenance tasks to ensure the airworthiness of the aircraft;
    • Adhere to established maintenance procedures and safety standards;
    • All activities must be properly recorded and signed off as per SACAA requirements ensuring that all the required legal aspects are compiled with;
    • Health and safety requirements must always be compiled with to ensure personal and other personnel safety, fire and accident / incident preventions;
    • Ensure that the work area, equipment, and tooling are properly maintained and safe prior to starting any job to prevent accidents or incidents to aircraft and staff;
    • Maintain the highest quality and standard of inspections;
    • Apply analytical thinking and troubleshooting techniques to identify root causes and implement effective solutions;
    • Communicate clearly and professionally to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of maintenance tasks.

    Requirements

    • Grade 12 or Equivalent;
    • Minimum of 15 years aviation experience;
    • Line and SVM experience;
    • Previous experience working on B737-400 and 800;
    • Licensed AME with a SACAA A & C License on B737; 300/400/500/800;
    • Willingness to work shifts, weekends and on public holidays;
    • Must be available and willing to travel at short notice, both locally and internationally;
    • Valid South-African passport holder.

    Crew Chief (JHB)

    Description

    • Conduct routine inspections for the quality of the technical maintenance;
    • Provide on the job training to the Technical Team (Technicians);
    • Provide guidance with regards to fault finding and rectification;
    • Provide guidance and knowledge on the maintenance of the applicable aircraft during the maintenance contract;
    • Monitor the quality of the work being performed;
    • Monitor the status of the ageing progress;
    • Monitor, supervise and sign the paperwork (quality inspection);
    • Ensure that they keep track of the Shift rostering, making sure that we have manpower versus workload;
    • Ground run experience will be advantageous;
    • Allocate daily work load to staff members;
    • Supervise the team and report on the team's performance;
    • Act as a resource, coach and mentor;
    • Set team goals to meet the overall business need;
    • Motivate, organise and encourage teamwork within the team to ensure productivity;
    • Assist the team with finding solutions to complex work;
    • Identify and remove barriers that reduce efficiency or effectiveness;
    • Foster an optimal working environment that recognises and rewards success;
    • Manage Employee relations and personnel functions (i.e. leave);
    • Be part of the recruitment and training of staff by ensuring that Re-Current Training and OTJ training takes place;
    • Liaise with third party service providers.

    Requirements

    • Grade 12 or equivalent;
    • Licensed AME with a SACAA, A & C License on B737 - 400 and 800;
    • Minimum of 10 years' aviation experience of which Engine Ground Run Experience would be advantageous;
    • Previous people management experience (Advantageous);
    • Line and SVM experience (Essential);
    • Previous experience working on B737 — 400 and -800 (Essential);
    • OJT experience (Essential);
    • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook, Powerpoint);
    • Willingness to work shifts, weekends and on public holidays;
    • Must be available and willing to travel at short notice, both locally and internationally;
    • Valid South-African passport holder;
    • Must be willing to perform relief duty at another station as and when required;
    • Ground run experience CFM56-3C1/7B;
    • Sound understanding of technical aircraft publications and documentation;
    • Good understanding of aviation regulations and safety standards;
    • Knowledge of Shift rostering (Advantageous).

    Manager: Operations Support - JHB

    Description

    • Provide input into the annual budget;
    • Manage costs by engaging suppliers for the most effective rates;
    • Monitor and renegotiate service provider contracts when services are added or removed;
    • Oversee and manage the initial IATA airport slot submissions and schedule alignment;
    • Maintain current navigation platforms and offer input for optimization;
    • Remain up to date with travel policies and cross border destination requirements;
    • Manage compliance on Post Flight Documentation as per the regulations;
    • Manage the procedures related to Jumpseat bookings;
    • Manage Interdepartmental Communications relating to all Schedule, Navigation and 90-day retention documentation requirements;
    • Monitor the continuous improvement and compliance to airport slot;
    • Participate in all briefings concerning contract flying to understand contractual requirements and ensure compliance;
    • Manage and compile fuel projections through the analysis of fuel usage;
    • Oversee and ensure compliance of the Airport Slots including the initial slot submissions per schedule period;
    • Maintain slot management within the current season;
    • Manage all audits relating to 90-day retention documentation requirements;
    • Manage the compliance of work instructions and manuals pertaining to the function;
    • Review manuals and work instructions annually;
    • Provide monthly reports to the Senior Manager;

    • Report statistics to other departments on a monthly basis;
    • Provide monthly reports detailing fuel usage;

    • Identify skill development areas for succession planning purposes;

    • Build strong relationships with CAMU, Airport Authority, Regulators, and Service providers to influence decisions that may affect operational continuity.

    Requirements

    • Grade 12 or equivalent;
    • Qualification in Flight Operational Management (Advantageous);
    • Minimum of 10 years aviation experience, of which, 5 years must be management experience;

    Experience in the following areas:

    • Aircraft Performance and Navigation,
    • IATA Slot Management,
    • Fuel Management and Monitoring.
    • Operations Support (90-day retention documents);
    • Experience with IOSA and SACAA audit requirements and engagements;
    • Non-office hours may apply from time to time due to operational requirements;
    • May be required to work weekends or extended hours;

    Thorough knowledge of the following areas:

    • IATA Slots,
    • SACAA regulation on 90 days document retention Aircraft performance and Navigation,
    • Company Travel,
    • Management.
    • Knowledge of IOSA/SACAA audit requirements and engagements;
    • Computer Literacy.
