    Audiologist Grade 1/2/3

    Requirements :

    • Qualification in Audiology or Speech Therapy & Audiology, registration with HPCSA for 2025.
    • Completion of community service in Speech Therapy and Audiology.
    • For Grade 1: 0-5 years experience,
    • for Grade 2: 10- 19 years experience and
    • for Grade 3: 20 years experience.

    Competencies:

    • Knowledge and skill in adult and paediatric hearing screening, diagnostic hearing assessments and hearing aid fittings.
    • Preference will be given to those applicants who have experience with vestibular and electrophysiology assessments. Ability to work as a team, planning, organizing, coordinating, and communication skills. Ability to engage in solution-based problem solving.
    • Display empathy for patients, promote advocacy and facilitate holistic treatment. Applicants should be prepared to undergo medical surveillance as an inherent job requirement

    Duties :

    • To conduct adult and paediatric audiological procedures in accordance with best practice guidelines and engage in clinical research.
    • To ensure that clinical resources are maintained according to protocols, which includes biological checks and reporting of faults.
    • To work within a multidisciplinary team within professional boundaries.
    • To supervise community service therapists and students. To comply with Performance Management processes.
    • To participate in departmental team building and projects. To adhere to infection control procedures and assist with maintaining accreditation requirements.

    Medical Registrar

    Requirements :

    • Appropriate qualification that allows registration with the HPCSA as Medical Practitioner, HPCSA registration as an independent medical practitioner and must be post Community Service. Must have Part 1B FC Neurosurg (SA) exams.
    • Must have minimum of 12 Months experience as Medical Officer in neurosurgery. Must be a South African citizen or permanent resident.
    • Current registration with HPCSA (2024/2025). -

    Duties :

    • The incumbent will be responsible for Neurosurgical assessments, including risk assessments, clinical management plans, managing patients using safe; evidence based and compassionate patient care plans, and the application of cost containment measures in service delivery.
    • Academically, registrars will attend Neurosurgery teaching programme as per the department of Neurosurgery at the University of the Witwatersrand.
    • To conduct research under supervision - with respect to the attainment of the MMED; train in the neurosurgical treatment modalities; teach and supervise medical and other undergraduate students as well as medical interns.
    • A high level of ethics and professionalism governs the training and service delivery aspects of trainee specialists.
    • Comply with the Performance Management and Development system (contracting, quarterly reviews, and final assessment).

    Medical Specialist Grade 1/2/3 (Emergency Medicine)

    Requirements :

    • Appropriate qualification that allows registration with the HPCSA as a Medical Specialist in Emergency Medicine.
    • Current registration the HPCSA council for 2024/2025.
    • Fellowship from the College of Emergency Medicine of South Africa or equivalent will be an added advantage.
    • For Grade 1: 0- 5 years experiences,
    • Grade 2: 5-10 years experiences and
    • Grade 3: 10- 15 years experiences .

    Duties :

    • The incumbent will be responsible to interview, investigate, diagnose and oversee the treatment of patients.
    • Improve quality of care by providing appropriate clinical care supervising of junior medical staff.
    • Willing to do commuted overtime rendering of after-hour (night, weekend and public holiday) duties to provide continuous uninterrupted care of patients.
    • Attendance of relevant administrative meetings.
    • Participation in the academic program in the hospital and all activities of the discipline in relation to teaching and research.
    • Ensure proper and accurate record keeping as legally and ethically required. Reporting to the head of unit on service delivery, clinical audits and where necessary quality improvement plans.
    • Assist the HOD to monitor, implement and adhere to the compliance to National Core Standards within the department. Assist the Clinical Head with administrative responsibilities.

    Medical Specialist Grade 1/2/3 Surgery (Trauma )

    Requirements :

    • Appropriate qualification that allows registration with the HPCSA as Medical Specialist.
    • Registration with the HPCSA as Medical Specialist in a Trauma Surgery .
    • For Grade 1: 0- 5 years’ experience as Medical Specialist.
    • Grade 2: 5-10 years’ experience as Medical Specialist.
    • Grade 3 10- 15 years’ experience as Medicals Specialist.
    • Experience in teaching registrars for the preparation of the College Exams.
    • Exposure with the MMed supervision process.

    Duties :

    • To perform Clinical, Teaching, and Research responsibilities as required by an academic surgical unit.
    • Clinical duties: Clinical history taking, examination, and assessment of patients.
    • Requesting and analysing special investigations.
    • Prescribing of medications and other therapies. Communicate effectively with colleagues.
    • Ensure proper keeping of records. Perform any other duties relevant to the clinical management of patients as required by the hospital you are rotating through.
    • Performance of diagnostics and therapeutic surgical procedures in the field of Trauma surgery.
    • Ability and willingness to perform 24 hours on calls per month on the premises.

    The following would be an advantage:

    • Knowledge of legislation, policies, and procedures about healthcare users in the public sector. Supervising the management of and managing Priority 1 patients' resuscitations, guiding junior staff in resuscitation and Trauma and Emergency Unit.
    • Daily ICU and ward rounds. 24-hour calls on the premises to give guidance and help with emergency surgery.
    • Teaching ward rounds through the teaching hospital affiliated to the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg.

    Occupational Therapist Grade 1/2/3

    Requirements :

    • Degree in Occupational Therapy. Completion of community service year in Occupational Therapy, by 31/12/2024.
    • Registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as an Occupational Therapist independent practitioner, plus current registration for the period 2025/2026.
    • Work exposure or further training & education will be an advantage.
    • Experience for Grade 1: 0-5 years,
    • for Grade 2: 10- 19 years and
    • for Grade 3: 20 years.

    Knowledge, skills and competence required:

    • computer literacy (Ms Word, Ms Excel). Knowledge of the public service legislations, policies, and procedures.
    • Good written and communication skills. Ability to work as a member of a multidisciplinary team. Analytical thinking, independent decision-making, and problem-solving skills.

    Duties :

    • Assess and treat all adult or paediatric patients with physical or psychiatric disorders, within allocated clinical load.
    • Assist with other clinical loads as needed.
    • Partake in allocated administrative duties.
    • Adhere to provincial, hospital and departmental policies, procedures, guidelines, and regulations.
    • Participate in quality assurance methods.
    • Communicate effectively with all stakeholders. Follow the correct channels of communication. Oversee allocated officials. Participate in CPD activities. Supervise OT students.
    • Exercise care with all consumables and equipment.
