    Executive: Legal Services (23)

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

    • A relevant NQF level 8 LLB degree and admitted attorney or advocate of the High Court of South Africa essential
    • A secondary Mineral Law qualification will be a definite advantage
    • A minimum of seven years post-admission practice as an attorney or advocate of the High Court in South Africa required
    • A minimum of five years senior management experience in the mining industry at the corporate level
    • Expert knowledge and experience within the legal framework applicable to the mining industry, including the Minerals and Petroleum Resources Development, Mine Health and Safety, Companies, Promotion of Access to Information and Protection of Personal Information acts.
    • In-depth knowledge of all relevant mining laws and regulations including, among others, the Mining Charter and environmental and labour legislation
    • Sound knowledge and experience of High Court litigation procedures, and extensive and proven contract drafting and dispute resolution experience
    • Must be detail orientated, self-motivated, diligent, driven, energised and proactive
    • Highly developed report-writing, problem-solving, planning and decision-making skills required
    • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation and presentation skills that demonstrate clear, compelling communications
    • Able to lead change, handle uncertainty and help others adapt to new challenges
    • Participative leadership style, with the ability to build trust, foster relationships, embrace diversity and value differences in people and cultures.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Lead, manage, develop and provide mentorship for the Legal Department and associated staff
    • Serve as the legal representative for the organisation (licence to operate, security of tenure, process, litigation, corporate transactions, intellectual property, etc.)
    • Provide legal guidance on corporate transactions, the full suite of minerals legislation, the Companies Act, employment law, mine health and occupational health legislation, privacy law, media law, and environmental legislation
    • Provide advice to the business, Chief Executive and executive/senior leadership team across the range of the Implats legal interests, risks and obligations
    • Serve as the principal legal advisor to the executive team and personnel
    • Identify, analyse and assess the legal and liability risks associated with the Groups mining, processing, refining and business operations, and their implications, and develop risk-mitigation strategies
    • Build a good understanding of the relevant legal issues, risks and obligations and provide advice and manage them effectively
    • Conduct legal analysis and research on various matters affecting the organisation
    • Provide advice on different legal and other issues within the organisation, and draft legal opinions, memoranda and other briefing documents
    • Manage the monitoring, reporting and implementation of legislative and applicable legal developments within the industry
    • Advise on the preparation and drafting of legislation, legal submissions and legal opinions
    • Interact and liaise with various regulators, Company appointed law firms and legal counsel
    • Oversee and advise all departments on legal and compliance issues and the relevant Company policies
    • Draft, review and administer legal agreements and participate in due diligence exercises
    • Prepare and manage legal and legislative reports to the Audit and Risk Committee and the boards of Implats Group companies
    • Oversee legal assurance to Implats strategic and legal processes
    • Establish and maintain effective legal services and professional networks
    • Monitor contract management and performance milestones pertaining to the Companys license to operate
    • Provide guidance on dispute resolution, arbitration and manage litigation matters
    • Draft, review and negotiate contracts, ensuring favourable terms for the Company
    • Manage agreements with partners, suppliers and other stakeholders

    EHS SAP Consultant (D2)

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

    • A NQF level 7 or higher qualification in the Information Technology (IT) field essential.
    • Minimum of 10 years EHS implementation and production support experience required.
    • A minimum of 5 years experience in a mining environment will be an advantage.
    • Sound knowledge of IT standards and change management procedures.
    • Implementation experience including full life cycle ASAP or other methodology, business requirement collection, business process analysis, gap analysis, realisation, final preparation, training, go-live, support.
    • Diversified information technology experience and sound knowledge of EHS software, methodologies, and technology required. (Environmental Compliance, Industrial Hygiene and Safety, Occupational Health, Occupational Hygiene, Audit Management, Incident Management & Risk Assessment)
    • Candidate must be a team player and demonstrate good interpersonal-, communication-, problem solving- and project coordination skills.
    • The successful candidate must have strong customer service attitude, ability to multi-task, high attention to detail proficiency level and analytical skills.
    • High level of MS Office proficiency and willing and able to travel for up to 2 to 3 days at a time (international) when required

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES:

    • Evaluate EHS Systems currently in the environment assist clients with system requirements and software selection.
    • Engage in all life cycle stages of project execution; implement EHS modules or solutions; assist with system configuration, integration, training, rollout, support, maintenance, enhancement, and improvements to meet overall business objectives
    • Support consultant teams that/with configure/deploy environmental health, safety, and sustainability solutions.
    • Responsible for functional and technical design, configuration, testing, implementation, and support of SAP and other EHS Solutions.
    • Ensure system support, systematic testing and evaluation of current configuration, creation of training- material and activities.
    • Assist functional and technical colleagues with troubleshooting critical issues, as it relates to EHS.
    • Apply functional and technical skill to configure EHS modules or liaise where necessary with vendor for support on implemented solutions.
    • Serve as subject matter expert to provide guidance to business in the relevant systems domain.
    • Map and analyses end-to-end business processes within the environment across all EHS systems as well as integration, following formal IT guidelines, methodologies and governance.
    • Facilitate management of change issues with the adoption of new information systems.
    • Serve as a collaborative power user of technology, and champion new and innovative business solutions within established and emerging technical architectures.
    • Assist the team with the creation of written validation procedures, plans and reports
    • Prepare project related documentation (status reporting, functional- and technical design, test scripts) during the different stages of a project.

    Boilermaker - BMR Leach

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

    • Trade Certificate in Boilermaker/Plater.
    • Relevant experience in a mining / chemical environment will be an added advantage.
    • Knowledge of welding principles and the use of welding definitions and symbols.
    • Knowledge of the principles of fabrication and pipe fitting.
    • Working knowledge of mechanical equipment used in the plant.
    • Knowledge and understanding of plant equipment and processes, lock out and isolation procedures.
    • Ability to draw, read, interpret, and produces basic engineering drawings (i.e., structural and fabrication).
    • Must be medically fit for the BMR.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES:

    • Conduct fabrication planned maintenance, i.e., inspect and repair non-load bearing steelworks (guards, covers, etc).
    • Conduct fabrication, cutting and grinding, i.e., cut, frill, punch, assemble and mechanically join structural steel work etc.
    • Fabrication duties develop and fabricate from complex drawings (pipes, cones etc) and manifolds; mark off basic regular engineering shapes; assemble and mechanically join sheet, plate, tube, pipe, and steel sections etc.
    • Form and shape sheet, plate, pipe, and structural sections using power machinery/hand or power tools.
    • Manufacture off set pipes, templates/jigs, direct inline and side loader conveyor feeder chutes.
    • Welding duties i.e., prepare steel and ferrous metals for welding; weld work pieces with a variety of welding methods in all positions; braze metals using the oxy-fuel brazing process and silver solder metals buy means of oxy-acetylene equipment.
    • Conduct mechanical installations i.e., installation of prefabricated work pieces steelwork, flooring, piping etc), install mentis and GRP grating and kick plates etc.
    • Store equipment in accordance with standing instructions and good housekeeping practices.
    • To obtain safety permits as and when required.
    • Assist in the compilation of work procedure and risk assessments.
    • Conduct on-the-job training of engineering learners.
    • Lift and move material and equipment by means of operated lifting equipment.
