    Maintenance Engineer

    Your Profile Requirements:

    • Mechanical or Electrical Engineering degree (B.Eng, BSc.Eng), or
    • Equivalent Advanced Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
    • Minimum NQF level 7
    • Certificated Engineer (Government Certificate of Competency, Factories)
    • Valid South African Drivers license

    Experience:

    • A minimum of 3 years within the maintenance / engineering function in a heavy-industry environment – pulp and paper, steel processing, mining, etc.
    • Experience in the management of the following core engineering processes:
    • Management of compliance to the Occupational Health & Safety Act, #85 of 1993.
    • People performance and development management.
    • Maintenance quality management.
    • Shutdown management.
    • Budgeting and cost management.

    Key Performance Areas:

    • Effective management of the safety during the execution of maintenance activities
    • Legal appointment GMR2.7a – support to the GMR2.1 in compliance to the execution of machine-related statutory activities
    • Effective management of the personal development of all maintenance execution team members – ensuring engagement and high-performance within these teams
    • Effective management of the quality of the execution of maintenance activities
    • Effective management of risk relating to technical change within the plant
    • Effective management of equipment and process risk, through engagement with the production teams in order to achieve the most effective balance of plant risk and output
    • Maintaining the required condition of plant and equipment
    • Effective management of the execution compliance of maintenance activities against the defined maintenance strategies. Further to this, engagement with Production Teams to realise the most effective balance of work week compliance and plant output
    • Effective management of non-CMMS actions and tasks within the maintenance teams (RCFA tasks, etc.)
    • Effective management of the maintenance execution team against the principles of the Work Order Management Process (WOMP)
    • Effective management of the applicable elements within the ‘repairables’ process to ensure effective turnaround of repairable spare parts
    • Effective management of compliance to the shutdown schedule for the plant. Further to this, engagement with the Business Unit Head and Production Manager to realise the most effective balance of shutdown schedule compliance and plant output
    • Compilation of budgets for human, time, and cost resourcing, as per routine process
    • Compliance to the defined cost budgets (maintenance spend)
    • Provide support to the Engineering and CMS departments in medium- and long-term processes (Capex planning, Root Cause Failure Analysis, etc.)
    • Provide support to the Engineering and CMS departments in continuous development of maintenance processes and resource models (cost budgets, shutdown schedules, spare parts management, etc.).

    Quality Inspector

    Profile Requirements:

    • International Welding Inspector
    • Electrical or Instrumentation Technician for the applicable roles

    Experience:

    • 5 years minimum experience in multi discipline maintenance quality environment
    • Knowledge and experience in general quality management principles and terminologies:
    • PQP (Project Quality Plan).
    • QCP (Quality Control Plan) / ITP (Inspection and Test Plans).
    • Quality management procedures.
    • Quality management templates.
    • Commissioning and hand-over data packs.
    • Knowledge and experience in piping, tanks, pressure vessels and structural design codes.
    • Developing and maintaining of quality assurance systems to meet required specifications.
    • Must have a good understanding of the ASME pressure vessel and piping design codes.
    • Must have a very good understanding of SANS 347 and 310.
    • Good understanding of quality control and assurance best practices and standards.
    • Understanding of applicable technical standards and legislative requirements.
    • Good technical knowledge of fabrication and installation of general plant equipment:
    • Structures.
    • Pumps & Motors.
    • Valves.
    • Pressure vessels and tanks.
    • Piping.
    • Electrical and instrumentation installations.

    Key Performance Areas:

    • To perform quality control inspections and evaluate results against set standards.
    • To report deviations and non-conformances
    • To verify effective close out on non-conformances
    • To support the business with OHAS Act compliance.
    • To support the Quality supervisor with internal and external audits against set standards,
    • To support the Quality supervisor with maintaining ISO Certification for manufacturing and repairs of pressure equipment
    • To support with quality and welding related problem-solving skills,
    • To develop a database of effective quality control plans,
    • To continuously improve the quality management system based on lessons learnt.
