    Technologist/ Medical Laboratory Scientist: Histology - Cape Town

    Role Requirements

    To be eligible for this role, you must hold:

    • a Bachelor of Health Sciences in Medical Laboratory Science (BSc MLS) or National Diploma in Medical Technology (Histologyy)
    • be registered with the HPCSA as a Medical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Technologist in Histology.
    • These qualifications ensure that you are equipped with the scientific knowledge and professional standing to perform confidently in a specialised and evolving field. We are looking for individuals with 1–2 years of experience in a pathology laboratory environment.     • a National Diploma in Medical Technology with HPCSA registration as a Medical Technologist, or a BSc Honours degree with HPCSA registration as a Medical Scientist.
    • You bring 5 years of experience in a Cytogenetics laboratory, including the analysis, verification, and sign-out of complex results for haematological malignancies and congenital abnormalities. You also provide expert training in chromosome analysis and assess staff competency, ensuring alignment with clinical and laboratory quality standards. This experience reflects your readiness to lead in a specialised, high-performance diagnostic environment.
