    Jnr CPO/CPO x2

    Purpose of Job

    • A Process Controller operates process equipment and systems for a specific plant / unit within the Sasol environment to achieve production requirements in a safe manner

    Key Accountabilities

    • Participate in emergency preparedness exercise
    • Perform routine inspection on safety equipment

    Learning Practitioner

    Purpose of Job

    • Identifies learning needs, applies methodologies, develops learning material and facilitates the training and assessments of the workforce/learners according to the legal requirements within business unit of responsibility and in alignment with the global learning strategy, frameworks, policies and guidelines.

    Key Accountabilities

    • Identifies required learning interventions and learning outcomes through assessing current versus required knowledge and skills and proposing gap closing interventions.
    • Assess the skills development required or learning gaps by conducting research into the identified competency or skill gap area.
    • Assess the target population profile for learning requirements as well as learning intervention in order to determine whether the intervention needs to be developed.
    • Designs develops and/or selects learning methodologies of specific modules in line with relevant learning legislation and business requirements.
    • Facilitates the process in delivering learning interventions through a variety of learning methodologies.
    • Orientate a learner into the application of their skills within a workplace context.
    • Guide learners towards competent application of their skills within a workplace context through e.g. application projects/assignments.

    Safety Standby x2

    Purpose of Job

    • To conduct risk monitoring during hot work, confined space entry activities as specified on the permit to work, based on the risk mitigations implemented and/or procedural requirement, or at a specified frequency, in order to identify potential changing process conditions.

    Key Accountabilities

    • Familiarise themselves with the location and use of the prescribed plant emergency equipment and the emergency alarm buttons in the area of equipment as stipulated on the work permit
    • Prevent people from interfering with the safe work environment as specified on the permit to work
    • Confirm that the emergency equipment required by the permit is available for the duration of the task and returned to the point of issue when work ceases
    • Familiarise themselves with the most suitable escape route and follow the area’s emergency procedures if an emergency situation arises whilst work is in progress
    • Ensure that gas tests are taken as stipulated on the permit and that the requirements of the permit are monitored for the duration of the task and act upon any deviation
    • Stop work during unsafe actions or at-risk working and return permit to permit control office.
    • Implement response actions during emergencies (Fires/Gas leaks etc.)

    Locomotive Driver

    Purpose of Job

    • A Locomotive Driver manoeuvres trains from the exchange yard to loading and offloading points at various business units

    Key Accountabilities

    • Training Site orientation and training according to training schedule
    • Theoretical training at training academy according to standards
    • Practical training – Complete number of shifts under supervision of Locomotive drivers according to training standards  
    • Shunting and hauling Trains across inside Sasol Secunda boundaries.  
    • Use of TFR/Sasol exchange yards.  
    • Driving and operating of a train efficiently according to the train schedule and safety regulations to ensure that customer freight reach their destination in good condition and on time.  
    • Performs various administration duties of moderate complexity requiring general knowledge of train services and other operational issues  
    • Take responsibility for the safety of the train and ensuring that it is protected all the time according to the safety standards and train working rules and ensure a hazardous free environment.  
    • Give clear operational instructions to the Rail Operator and supervise all activities on footplate as per the train schedule.  
    • Due to the Safety aspects attached to the work, the incumbent must be able to communicate well under extreme pressure to enable the company to meet its daily target.  
    • Clear understanding of instructions, notices, regulations, verbal communication and ability for good radio use during operational procedures.  
    • To be able to co-operate with Rail Controller and other personnel in dealing with abnormal conditions.  
    • Move Loads up to minimum of 40 wagons (2000 T) to a maximum of 71 wagons (3600 T)  
    • Move all loads including containers and hazardous loads.

    Formal Education

    • Matric/ Grade 12

    Artisan Mechanical Fitter

    Purpose of Job

    • Install, repair, and maintain pipelines, machinery, and associated plant and ancillary equipment allied with mechanical processes. Ascertain that mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic plant and equipment are maintained to a safe condition and compliant with any specific regulations. The applicant must be a good team player, be able to work overtime and perform standby duties.

    Key Accountabilities

    • Fit high-pressure fire suppression systems, fluid power, and hydraulic circuits, including the construction of hard and flexible pipelines.
    • Cut, thread, or hammer pipes to specifications, using tools such as cutting torches.
    • Fabricate and weld valve bank frames and perform other welding requirements.
    • Examine faulty plant or machinery and ascertain nature and location of defects.
    • Dismantle plant or machinery and remove damaged or worn parts. Fit and assemble parts to rebuild plant or machinery.
    • Repair defective parts, obtain replacement parts, or prepare new parts using hand and machine tools.
    • Install or reposition plant or machinery. Test and adjust them for correct functioning, including modifying standardmachinery for special purposes.
    • Set up propulsion components (e.g. shafts, propellers, and rudders), engines, and gearboxes.
    • Make penetrations through bulkheads (walls) and work with Glass Reinforced Plastic (GRP) and Fibre ReinforcedPlastic (FRP).
    • Select, mix, and apply various bonding agents and sealants (cosmetic and structural).
    • Carry out routine tasks such as cleaning, oiling, and greasing, according to schedule.
    • Operate overhead crane / basic slinging in line with safety and business requirements.
    • Comply with discipline related standards, governance, safety measures, and legal requirements.
    • Apply evidence-based SHE practices in alignment with set standards to ensure safe operations.

    Management Accountant Supply Chain

    Purpose of Job

    • Ensures effective, accurate and timely reporting to internal stakeholders. Support the cost and profit centre managers with financial analysis and intelligence in a proactive way. Provide a continuous input into financial and business decision-making at an operational level. Provide accurate and timeous financial and management accounting reports. Execution of financial related activities. Apply relevant policies, procedures and ensure compliance to internal controls.

    Key Accountabilities

    • Present and confirm the accuracy and completeness of SAP data.
    • Prepare SAP journals to ensure correct cost allocation between GL accounts.
    • Support finance team (manager in preparing BU)/value chain results
    • Maintain SAP structures to align with BU / value chain requirements and make budget changes accordingly.
    • Prepare monthly cost reporting of the BU / value chain / area results.
    • Evaluate completeness of monthly cost and create provisions & accruals were necessary.
    • Prepare monthly reconciliations/schedules for GL accounts under their control.
    • Reconciliation of monthly SAP and Management reporting results.
    • Maintain cost and profit centre structure within SAP to ensure alignment with BU/value chain/area requirements.
    • Identify and implement value adding initiatives to be adopted and supported by the business.
    • Stay abreast of changes in legal/regulatory environment that could impact BU's.
    • Report and influence the adoption of best practices across BU's.
    • Liaise with the relevant role-players regarding timeous capturing of financial information, follow up on queries and discrepancies
    • Prepare and download Supply and Crude TB, update YTD and MTD workings and ensure completeness for Income statement reporting
    • Ensure that Accrual accounts are accurately reconciled, and each line item can be substantiated
    • Preparing monthly JV accounts where applicable.
    • Assist with rehabilitation provisions calculations and updates

    Formal Education and Experience

    • National Diploma in a Finance related field with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience
    • B-Degree or higher in a Finance related field will be an advantage
