    Corporate Counsel I

    • Under the direction of the Legal Manager, South Africa, this position will provide legal support and counseling regarding asset management and corporate contracts and documents as requested by various company departments and external customers.

    What You Will Do – Primary Responsibilities

    • Analyze property title and related property documentation to assess the legal feasibility to install telecommunication towers.
    • Assist with preparation of various risk assessments regarding issues with property title, mortgage bonds, servitudes, the validity of contracts and restrictive conditions, including alternatives to mitigate and control such risks.
    • Research and analyze all applicable law sources, statutes and legal precedent in order to analyze and/or form legal opinions and documentation.
    • Assist to draft, review and negotiate a wide range of legal contracts and agreements.
    • Assist with general asset/ real estate management matters.
    • Assist with registration of properties and contracts at the offices of the Deeds Registry of South Africa.
    • Assist to prepare and coordinate corporate and regulatory filings.
    • Maintain corporate records.
    • Preparation of legal letters, memorandums and reports.
    • Coordinate and implement projects to improve the internal in country legal processes of the company.
    • Resolve issues related to ground leases and permits, which may require in country travel.
    • Assist with general litigation control, including the updating of the litigation trackers with the control of deadlines and scheduled hearings etc.
    • Assist the Asset Optimization department in the market (purchases, extensions, amendments and abatements).
    • General legal advisor responsibilities and the ability to resolve routine legal and real estate issues.
    • Legal due diligence with respect to Merger and Acquisition transactions and their corresponding MLAs in sale leaseback deals.
    • Other projects and duties as assigned.

    What You’ll Need – Qualifications & Requirements

    • Bilingual in English/Afrikaans preferred
    • Bachelor's Degree Admitted Attorney, B.Comm. LLB or LLB preferably;
    • and 1+ years 1 to 3 years of experience in Corporate, Commercial and/or real estate transaction environment required, including but not limited to landlord-tenant relations, development & construction and permitting regulation. Experience in Mergers & Acquisitions preferred.
    • Demonstrated knowledge and beginner proficiency working with Microsoft Office Suite software including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft Outlook.
    • Domestic Travel 10% of the time some travel maybe required.
    • Valid Government Issued Driver's License

    Senior Manager, Finance

    What You Will Do – Primary Responsibilities

    • Overall management of New Build Process, Inventory and Regional Site Maintenance project accounting.
    • Manage the purchase orders, (including approval documentation), invoice coding & processing and payment.
    • Supervise Local Tax books and statutory filings and External Audit Process
    • Work cohesively with the team to provide site profitability analysis & comments and any other ad hoc financial reports as requested by management.
    • Supporting the Group on financial accounting and emerging issues.
    • Review of appropriate applications of IFRS & US GAAP.
    • Evaluation & improvement of the Internal Control environment.
    • Overseeing and assisting with M&A transactions.
    • Overall review & management of Accounts Receivable ensuring accurate billing to Clients and prompt receipts. Acting as point of contact for majority of queries raised by SBA Group Finance. Preparation of quarterly & annual Income Tax calculations.

    What You’ll Need – Qualifications & Requirements

    • Bachelor's & Honors Degree in Accounting with CA qualification required;
    • At least 6-10 years experience and 3-7 years’ post articles experience.

    Real Estate Specialist

    • Responsible for qualifying leads, contacting landlords and successfully negotiating Real Estate related transactions within acceptable parameters as set forth by Management.

    What You Will Do – Primary Responsibilities

    • Develop and maintain favorable relationships with new and existing customers through individual account support in order to increase SBA’s revenue through acquisitions and investment programs.
    • Negotiate easements, land acquisitions, lease amendments and other buyout transaction types based on predetermined investment criteria with landowners to realize permanent rent savings, while maintaining favorable relationships.
    • Negotiate lease extensions on sites with shorter maturing ground interests as directed by management.
    • Negotiate permanent rent restructures, conditional rent reductions and new lease terms for non-performing, underperforming or select sites as directed by Management.
    • Manage a portfolio of assigned sites with varying degrees of value to the Organization and prioritize as needed with Management direction.
    • Review and evaluate ground related agreements to identify potential issues and relevant financial considerations to determine best negotiation approach.
    • Maintain high contact rates with customers and monitor all transactions through closing.
    • Coordinate with other departments to facilitate ground area expansions and other site related transactions.
    • Manage assigned portfolio of tower sites and maintain accurate site notes using internal Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software.
    • Monitor and report activities and provide relevant information to management team.
    • Verify the accuracy of payments, expiration dates of ground agreements and other ground interest data of assigned sites. Notify the appropriate departments of any discrepancies discovered.
    • Research basic information for contacting potential sellers.

    What You’ll Need – Qualifications & Requirements

    • H.S. Diploma/GED Bachelor's degree preferred; and 0-2 years of sales experience, preferably in real estate.
