    Assistant Manager Nursing (PNA7): Night Duty

    Requirements :

    • Basic qualification accredited by SANC in terms of Government Notice R425 (i.e. Diploma/Degree in nursing) or equivalent qualification that allows registration with the SANC as a professional nurse. A minimum of 08 years appropriate/ recognizable experience in Nursing after registration as Professional Nurse with the SANC in General Nursing. A Diploma/ Degree in Nursing Administration or Health Services Management. At least 3 years of the period referred to above must be appropriate/ recognizable experience at Management level. Strong leadership skills, problem solving, computer literacy/ basic computer skills, good communication and interpersonal relation skills, conflict resolution skills and ability to work under pressure. Sound knowledge of national core standards, ideal health assessment framework, nursing strategy, PFMA, Labour relations and other relevant legislative framework.

    Duties :

    • Delegate, supervise and co-ordinate the provision of effective and efficient patient care through adequate nursing care through adequate nursing care. Initiate and participate in health promotion to ensure consistent communication of relevant, accurate and comprehensive information on health care. Develop/establish and maintain constructive working relationships in nursing and other stakeholders (i.e inter sectional and multidisciplinary teamwork). Participate in the analysis, formulation and implementation of nursing guidelines, practices, policies and standard operating procedures. Manage effective utilization and supervision of Human financials, material resources co -ordination of provision of effective training and research. Maintain professional growth /ethical standards and development of self and subordinates.

    Head of Clinical Unit Grade 1: Internal Medicine

    Requirements :

    • Appropriate qualification (MBChB, FCP(SA), MMED) that allows for registration with the HPCSA as Medical Specialist in Internal Medicine. HPCSA registration as Medical Specialist in Internal Medicine. A minimum of 3 years’ appropriate experience as Medical Specialist after registration with the HPCSA as Medical Specialist in Internal Medicine. Knowledge and Skills: Assessment and management of patient within the registered specialist field. Understanding of basic Human resource matters including labour relations. Knowledge of legislative prescript governing public service. Good communication, managerial, leadership, analytical and problem-solving skills. Stress tolerance, working withing a team, self-confidence and the ability to build and maintain good relationships are required. Must have a strong record of clinical governance, research and experience of supervision, training, and teaching at both under and post graduate levels. A publication record will be an added advantage.

    Duties :

    • Offer high quality care to patients by way of efficient coordination of Internal Medicine services, comprehensive patient care, supervise junior staff and student. Conduct Grand ward rounds and Consultant ward rounds, perform Outpatients Department work, provide intra and interdisciplinary consultations and interfacility referrals, facilitate outreach to lower levels of care. Facilitate and conduct down referrals to lower levels of care. Organize and supervise clinical and theoretical teaching of undergraduate and post graduate students. Conduct outreach to lower levels of care. Perform research. Perform administrative and management duties.

    Production Diagnostic Radiographer

    Requirements :

    • Appropriate Qualifications that allow for the required registration with the HPCSA in Production Diagnostic Radiography. Registration with the HPCSA in Production Diagnostic Radiography. No experience required after registration with the HPCSA in Production Diagnostic Radiography. The following will be added advantage: must have done Community Service.

    Duties :

    • Provide quality radiography services to all patients referred. Partake and ensure the provision of a 24-hour service delivery, night duty, disaster calls, weekends and public holidays. provide a high-quality Radiographic Training of students. Stock control and management for service efficiency. Adhere to the set allocation rosters. Liaise with internal and external departments for patient referrals. Provide services as per Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) Scope of Practice and Guidelines. Perform forensic imaging studies for medico-legal purposes within the scope of training. This will include basic conventional diagnostic examinations of the skeletal system, chest and abdomen and other relevant modalities as deemed necessary by the requesting health care practitioner. Ability and willingness to deal with crisis or disaster even outside of working hours. Performing professional duties, respecting the basic human rights of patients and others, and always observing ethical responsibilities and health law. Conduct routine QA/QC tests as mandated or required for safety. Ensure that equipment is regularly checked for malfunctions and reporting any faults immediately. Adhere and ensure compliance with SAHPRA/Radiation Control Directorate and HPCSA Legislation. Monitoring of patient waiting times. Adhere to the Regulated Norms and Standards, Ideal Hospital/ Clinic Realization Management for quality services. Performing quality control tests on imaging accessories and X-Ray equipment in collaboration with officials from the Radiation Control Directorate of the Department of Health and the technicians from the technical companies. Understanding and observing health and safety at work as well as welfare issues, including infection control policies and ionizing radiation regulations in order to protect oneself and others. Partake and facilitate sub-ordinate and student development. Advise departmental management on the development of the training plan. Continually assess the training and development needs of sub-ordinates and students allocated (where applicable). Partake in the Performance Management and Development System (PMDS) contracting and assessments for oneself and sub-ordinate staff. Report and alert supervisor/s all damages, repairs, incidents within the department and hospital at large. Participate and comply with the CPD programs for self-development. Observe all legislative frameworks. Participating in research studies where imaging is needed, in accordance with national and HPCSA research guidelines. Knowledge of the Supply Chain Management (SCM) and Public Finance Management Act (PFMA) prescripts. Perform stock control as mandated. Participate in the Multi-Disciplinary Teams (MDT) for clinical efficiency. Knowledge of supplier and service provider management. Conduct relevant and appropriate patient education before every procedure. Ensure the patient has consent for invasive procedures. Conduct reasonable patient assessment before and during procedures. Ensure correct patient receives correct and safe examinations. Rendering the imaging services with precaution to ensure maximal radiation safety and minimal exposure to patient safety incidents (PSI). Ensure assessment and maintenance of maximal patient satisfaction or experience of care.

    Assistant Manager Nursing (PNB4): Theatre & ICU

    Requirements :

    • Basic qualification accredited with SANC in terms of Government Notice R425 (i.e. Diploma/Degree in nursing) or equivalent qualification that allows registration with the SANC as a professional nurse. A minimum of 10 years appropriate/ recognizable experience in Nursing after registration as Professional Nurse with the SANC in General Nursing. At least 6 years of the period referred to above must be appropriate/ recognizable experience in the speciality after obtaining the one year post basic qualification in either ICU/theatre. At least 3 years of the period referred to above must be appropriate/ recognizable experience at a management level. Diploma/ degree in nursing administration/ Health Services Management, computer literacy, knowledge and insight of Nursing process, procedures and other relevant public service acts. Decision and problem-solving skills, interpersonal and conflict management skills. Knowledge of ideal hospital framework, norms and standards, Batho Pele principles. Good communication skills, supervisory and analytical skills. Basic understanding of human resource and financial management policies and practices, nursing strategy and other relevant legislature framework.

    Duties :

    • Manage and co-ordinate the implementation of holistic, comprehensive, specialized Nursing care in the intensive care unit, theatre and CSSD in conjunction with team members within a professional and legal framework. Ensure the maintenance of quality care standards in the ICU, Theatre and CSSD services. Ensure adequate supervision of staff and personal quality cost effective and efficient patient care. Ensure effective utilization of all infection control and prevention practices by all staff including support services and cleaning staff. Supervise the implementation of health care delivery policies procedures, clinical guidelines and protocols, operational and strategic plans aimed at improving service delivery. Execute disciplinary code and grievance procedure up to the required level and then refer to the Deputy Manager Nursing. Facilitate implementation of departmental priorities and national core standards. Monitor and evaluate the care, ensure effective data management. Ensure that ethics and professionalism is maintained demonstrate effective communication with staff, patients and multidisciplinary and stakeholders – maintain professionalism growth, ethical standards and development of self and subordinate. Co-ordination of provision of effective training and research. Participate in analysis formulation and implementation of Nursing guidelines, practices policies and procedures. Manage effective utilization and supervision of human, financial and material resource through cost centres.

    Operational Manager Nursing PNB3 (PAEDS)

    Requirements :

    • Basic Qualification accredited with SANC in terms of Government Notice R425 (i.e Diploma / Degree in Nursing) or equivalent qualification that allows registration with the SANC as a professional nurse plus a post basic qualification in Child Nursing Science with duration of one year accredited with SANC in terms of Government notice R212. A minimum of 9 years appropriate / recognizable experience in nursing after registration as a Professional nurse with SANC in General nursing. At least 5 years of the period mentioned above must be appropriate / recognizable experience after obtaining a 1 year post basic qualification in Child Nursing Science. Degree or Diploma in Nursing Administration or health service management. Computer literacy will be an added advantage.

    Duties :

    • Overall supervision and control of quality patient care I the unit. Ensure the formulation and availability of clinical patient care protocols and policies in the department. Efficient implementation and evaluation of patient care programmes in the unit according to departments strategic goals. Ensure adequate and appropriate staffing according to patients needs. Effective monitoring and management of absenteeism. Accountable for overall and effective management of nursing duties. Establish efficient communication with the multidisciplinary team. Responsible for the implementation of disciplinary measures. Secure and allocate resources and budget to achieve workplace objectives. Proactively identify performance requirements to improve team work. Ensure performance, evaluation, management and development of staff. Ensuring the adherence to National Core Standards and ideal hospital framework. Diploma/ Degree in health service management will be an added advantage.
