    Senior Software Engineer

    • The Software Engineer will play a crucial role in the development and deployment of software solutions. You will collaborate with the product team to gather requirements and ensure the feasibility of designs, transforming high-level application requirements into performant and extensible architectural designs. Your work will support various functions such as engineering, manufacturing, and wellbore physics simulation.

    Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent software engineering experience.
    • Expertise in a general-purpose programming language.
    • Knowledge of algorithms and software design principles.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to apply agile methodology to software development.

    Preferred Experience:

    • Experience in the energy industry.
    • Experience deploying software to cloud infrastructure with code.
    • Knowledge of F# and C# (.NET).

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Collaborate with the product team to collect requirements and verify design feasibility.
    • Transform high-level application requirements into performant and extensible architectural designs.
    • Model complex engineering processes in software.
    • Provide the development team with architectural blueprints.
    • Guide and assist the development team in the execution of blueprints.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve issues at all levels of the stack.

    Senior Data Engineer

    • As a Data Engineer you will be responsible for developing reporting and analysis software for our internal customers. This role involves transforming proprietary and commercial data sources into tools that support our manufacturing, sales, and engineering functions.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Customer Collaboration:

    • Work directly with internal customers to identify their requirements; Develop robust data models and gather feedback to refine solutions; Deliver products through internal APIs or dashboards.

    Job Requirements:

    Education:

    • Preferably a master’s or other advanced degree.

    Experience:

    • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a quantitative discipline (e.g., software engineering) or equivalent postgraduate experience.
    • Prior experience in writing and delivering software.

    This position is part of the Africa Accounting Shared Service team and supports the team with accounting and filing work required for accounting activities and financial audits.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Perform accounting activities on an "as needed" basis, including:

    • Balancing the General Ledger to AR and AP sub-systems
    • Processing payments through the ERP system and reconciling statements

    Temp GL Accountant Assistant

    Key Responsibilities: 

    Reporting and Statutory

    • NOV South Africa is seeking a qualified and experienced CNC Turner. In this role you will manufacture components / parts to required specifications and quality standards in accordance with drawings, sketches and or verbal instructions by operating a CNC Lathe and/or Conventional Lathe.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Read and understand engineering drawings
    • Ensure the correct drawing is used for each specific job
    • Load CNC lathes or manual lathes using an overhead crane or manually
    • Ensure the correct material is used
    • Program CNC lathes as required
    • Identify and use the appropriate tooling for each application
    • Load and download approved programs to and from the designated computer
    • Adhere to first-off procedures

    Qualifications:

    • Technical Grade 12 (N3) or equivalent
    • Qualified Turner Machinist

    Experience:

    • Minimum 5 years' experience in a heavy engineering environment
    • Familiarity with Fanuc, Mazak, and Siemens CNC controls
    • Milling experience would be an advantage
    • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings

    Materials Coordinator

    • NOV South Africa is seeking a Materials Coordinator. In this role you will ensure that the Repair Tool store; Jigs & Fixture and WIP areas are able to function effectively thereby meeting the demands of our internal and external customers.

    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Tool Store (Repair Center):
      • Control/Monitor all workshop tools – Ensure the register is kept up to date (In store / In workshop / Out for Repairs / Scrapped).
      • Flag additional tooling requirements as the need arise to Workshop Supervisor.
      • Request tool quotes from Vendors, create PORs and track delivery of tools as required.
    • Job WIP Location (Warehouse):
      • Liaison between PPC and 190 repair workshop for parts movements 
      • Track and maintain register and parts indicating repair part location in the WIP location.
      • Move inspected parts from workshop to WIP location – Post D&I Phase
      • Move repair/coating parts from WIP location to Machine/Welding/Coatings shop as required – Repair/A&T phase.
      • Move repair/coating parts from WIP location to OSV boxing location.
      • Jigs & Fixture Area (Warehouse):
      • Ensure that all Jigs & Fixture are on the register and ensure its status is updated (In store / In workshop / Out for Maintenance / Repairs / Scrapped) updated.
      • Issue Jigs & Fixture to RTs per job requirements.
      • Practice continuous improvement and 6S on Jigs & Fixture area content and layout.
      • Ensure maintenance is performed on all Jigs and fixtures as required.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Grade 12.
    • Stores and Inventory Management.

    EXPERIENCE: 

    • Controlling Stores / Warehouse duties; Min 5 Years’ experience; 
    • Quality Control Incoming Inspection - the ability to perform the required visual incoming inspection in accordance with the relevant specifications and procedures
    • PC literate – Word and Excel; 
    • Valid 3 ton forklift license and/or flexi license essential

    Temporary Welder

    • NOV South Africa is seeking a temporary Welder. In this role you need to demonstrate welding ability to ensure that the finished product adheres to the required specifications and quality standards as dictated by NOV. Willingness to travel constantly a prerequisite of the position.

    • Technical Grade 12 (N3); Completed a recognised welding apprenticeship and passed a recognised trade test in the trade of welding

    SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES: 

    • Be competent in Carbon and low alloy steel welding with the SMAW,GMAW,OFW, GTAW AND SAW processes in 1F,2F,3F, 4F and 1G plate welding and 1G rotated pipe welding, which includes hard facing and weld restoration; 
    • Must be assessed as competent in a fillet fracture tests, macro for fillet welds and bend tests or X-ray for groove welds; 
    • Must be able to perform welds in the flat position; 
    • Must be assessed as competent in welding 6 test coupons.

    Repair Technician - Riser

    • NOV South Africa is seeking an experienced Riser Repair Technician. In this role you will form an integral part of the Riser Repair team where your support and expertise will ensure that all Marine Riser related Inspections and Repairs are successfully executed. You will also be required to manage the Riser Inspection/Repair equipment and offer maintenance and calibration support. You will also be responsible to manage our key stock items for replacement repair components, raw material and consumables.

    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Provide hands-on support on disassembly, assembly and FAT activities for Risers and Telescopic Joints.
    • Be fully proficient in and perform the below NDT processes as a qualified ASNT Level 2 Technician.
      • Magnetic Particle Inspection (MP)
      • Liquid Penetrant Inspection (LP)
      • Visual Inspection (VI)
      • Hardness Inspection
      • Wall Thickness Inspection
    • Control all Riser equipment and prepare equipment for AFB assignments.
    • Control and Track all AFB equipment including identifying maintenance, spares and calibration requirements. Ensure that all equipment is maintained to the highest standards.
    • Support any Riser Repair Stock and Consumable requirements.
    • Support any Yard infrastructure and/or Yard Equipment Maintenance requirements.
    • Client liaison as and when required.
    • Supply technical input/support to Riser Repair Manager and/or Riser project engineers. 
    • Extensive international travel

    QUALIFICATIONS:  

    • Tertiary qualification in Engineering and/or a relevant Trade such as Mechanical Fitting etc.

    EXPERIENCE:

    • Approximately 5-10 Years’ experience in a Repair/Engineering facility with 2-3 years in a Lead Capacity. 
    • Experience within the Oil & Gas industry and more specific on Marine Risers would be ideal for this position. 

    SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES: 

    • Be an expert on all PCG related SOP’s, NDT Written Practice, Work instructions related to Riser Inspections.
    • Be familiar with all NOV Global NDT report formats, report writing and review.
    • Be competent in the ability to read and understand the applicable engineering drawings, specifications, work instructions, reports and follow any Shop Packets and/or Quality Control Plans as required.
    • Computer literacy (including good command of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook)
