    User Support and Quality Assurance (QA) Agent

    Role

    ECD Connect is an extensive and sophisticated licence-free, open-source, customisable digital platform that has been developed to assist ECD practitioners (and the organisations who support them) in improving access to, and the quality of, crucial early childhood services. The platform includes web apps for principalspractitioners and field-support staff, that are designed for low-end smartphones, require minimal data, and can be used offline for up to 30 days. It also includes a head office admin portal for content, user and data management.

    We are looking for a well organised and empathetic individual with strong verbal and written communication skills that include ability to translate technical issues into understandable terms for non-technical users. In addition to providing user support, you will be responsible for QA testing of development to ensure that bugs and other inconsistencies are picked up prior to release.

    Ultimately, you will be the advocate for our users, ensuring that problems are dealt with before and after they hit people’s devices. We are looking for a sparky, proactive person with strong attention to detail.

    Minimum requirements

    • BSc/BA in Computer Science, information technology, engineering or related field, or accredited certification in software testing
    • Excellent computer skills including use of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel, Atlassian Jira, Figma, Google Sheets
    • 2+ years customer services / user support experience (advantageous)
    • 4+ years of experience in software testing.
    • Knowledge of QA methodologies, techniques, and tools.

    Responsibilities

    • Provide first-line support to users via phone, email, or chat. Communicate effectively with users to keep them informed about the status of their issues.
    • Maintain detailed records of user interactions, issues, and resolutions in Jira ticketing system.
    • Create and update user guides, FAQs, and other support documentation.
    • Maintain detailed records of test plans, bugs and inconsistencies in Jira ticketing system and Google Sheets.
    • Design and execute manual and automated tests to ensure the quality of our platform.
    • Collaborate with the development team to ensure that defects are properly addressed. Help troubleshoot issues.
    • Participate in the continuous improvement of our testing processes.
    • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
    • Customer/user support

    Mentor Manager

    Role

To this end, DGMT is leading work on Accelerating Learning for learners failed by the system to enable the mastery of foundational literacy and numeracy skills.

    We are recruiting a Mentor Manager to design, develop, and execute a strategic, fit-for-scale, mentorship model to implement accelerated learning programmes. The Mentor Manager will be part of a small, dynamic team focused on driving strategies embedded in accelerated learning principles to advance foundational literacy and numeracy skills for learners in South Africa.

    Minimum requirements

    • Relevant degree – such as one in mentorship & coaching, social sciences, education or project management
    • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar field proven track record of project implementation.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Additional South African languages are a plus.
    • Skills in interpreting data, synthesising information and coalition building with varying stakeholders.
    • Apply research insights and knowledge on accelerated learning toward practical project implementation in innovative ways.
    • They are geared towards working in a collaborative environment with a strong capacity for owning and driving work forward.
    • Driver’s License and willingness to travel are essential

    The following competencies would be preferable:

    • Excellent knowledge of mentorship and coaching principles
    • Experience with foundational literacy and numeracy education
    • Experience working with or in schools delivering programmes

    Responsibilities

    • Refine a fit-for-scale mentorship approach and process for national rollout
    • Input into the strategic implementation plan and develop a projected budget; assumptions and risks
    • Train and manage Mentors who implement TaRL programmes in the accelerated learning project.
    • Identify clear benchmarking and quality assurance indicators for the mentorship process inclusive of coaching curriculum.
    • Institute feedback loops between programme implementers and the central HUB to surface learnings effectively

    Administrative Assistant to DGMT Innovation Directors

    Role

    We seek a highly organised senior assistant to provide comprehensive administrative support to the four DGMT’s Innovation Team directors. This role involves various duties including logistics, event planning, information management, and general administrative tasks. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple priorities for multiple people in a fast-moving environment.

    Minimum requirements

    • Minimum 5 years experience as an assistant or in a similar administrative role for a senior management team.
    • Exceptional organisational and time-management skills.
    • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively.

    Responsibilities

     Scheduling, Coordination and Travel:

    • Arrange travel, accommodation, and transport for the Directors.
    • Conduct bi-weekly check-ins with each Director to ensure alignment and address support needs.
    • Manage and maintain schedules for key meetings and engagements.
    • Provide general administrative support to the Directors as needed.

    Meeting and Event Planning and Management:

    • Plan and execute events, conferences, workshops, and meetings.
    • Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, and venues.
    • Manage pre-event, during-event, and post-event logistics, including catering, transport, accommodation, and communication with attendees.
    • Coordinate logistics for internal team meetings/workshops, including scheduling, venue booking, resource procurement, and catering.
    • Organise workshops and events with sector partners, ensuring all logistical aspects are managed efficiently.
    • Gather feedback post-event and handle follow-up activities.

    Information and Knowledge Management:

    • Ensure accurate filing and storage of key portfolio documentation including grants, contracts, Board, HR, admin, and finance.
    • Support the collation of project plans and facilitate efficient team planning.
