WHAT YOU’LL DO

You are responsible for the following per your allocated area of responsibility:

• Assures customer and LCS team have access to high quality product and technical support provided in a time frame respectful of Metso’s customers’ sense of urgency.
• Establishes best practice customer technical support services for Metso equipment. Supports internal / external customers with technical information facilitating the successful completion of assigned activities, responsibilities, and service projects. Identifies potential new product/spares offerings which result from the review and analysis of the process problem at hand.
• Effectively and accurately install and commissions Metso equipment.
• Undertake effective and accurate repairs to Metso equipment and in accordance with Metso Standards.
• Interpersonal skills are required due to regular interaction and feedback with the customers.
• Provide accurate instructions and training to customers’ plant personnel and maximize Metso products and services.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment effectively and accurately on several projects simultaneously, with the ability to organize and prioritize tasks.
• As required, coordinates, prepares, analyses, and submits accurate and timely reports/feedback within Metso and Customers. 
• Positive customer relations, communication and delegation skills are essential.
• Experience and capabilities enable carrying out responsibilities with limited direction.
• Special Projects as assigned by Manager.
• Perform routine and non-routine maintenance activities.
• Identify and report any risk of component or equipment failure.
• Inspect, install, adjust, and maintain mechanical machines and equipment on site.
• Components rebuild & replacement.
• Perform alignments.
• Proficiency in trouble-shooting hydraulics, pneumatics.
• Equipment lubrication
• Ensure work is carried out in a safe and efficient manner and provide input directed at improving the safety, efficiency and overall effectiveness and Reliability of equipment.
• Provide input to Maintenance and Reliability improvement initiatives.
• Recommend job plan and tool changes to Maintenance Supervisors
• Safely operate specific units of mobile equipment including overhead and mobile crane, forklifts, etc.
• Follow all plant specific Policies E.g. No Smoking areas, lockout, Confined Space, Working at Heights, PPE, Etc.
• You will be required to be on standby, available for after hour call outs for breakdown situations and over weekends alternating every two weeks.

WHO YOU ARE

• Trades Papers in Millwright - Essential
• Computer Literate
• Understanding and principles of customer relations and interaction
• Grade 12
• Minimum 5 years’ field service experience on mining process equipment (Larox Filter Presses) - Essential
• Ability to effectively communicate with a drive and performance orientation
• Ability to work in a team atmosphere
• Valid driver’s license
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 – 2008
• Knowledge of Mine Health and Safety Act
• Knowledge of Occupation Health and Safety Act

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Communicate and work together seamlessly with Market Area Africa, Customers, Global Logistics Operations and Product Line to acquire and ensure accuracy of the demand forecast used as base for planning of Metso operations.
• Work with Market Area Africa sales and customers to build a consensus plan of orders and forecast.
• Transfer customer demand forecast input to the Global Logistics Operations and other internal organizations through administration of the respective systems (SAP and workflows).
• Request Special Planning Parameters (SPP) based on Market Area, Customer and Product Line information and utilizing the special supporting tools for accurate estimates on required stock levels.
• Coordinate the supply of standard items to meet internal and external customer requirements.
• Monitor selected key accounts on performance for key performance metrics and utilize prioritized escalation to support channels.
• Identify and act to mitigate potential deviations in baseline datasets, forecast, transactional data of customer and Global Logistics Operations.
• Find opportunities to educate business stakeholders (internal and external) in the collaborative planning best practices and available Global Logistics Operations support models that could be easily connected to increase value add and business with key accounts.
• Assist the market area internal stakeholders with analysis and reporting related to selected customer centric inventory planning.
• Check stocking requests against inventory records, or stock on hand.
• Support workflow requests accuracy.

WHO YOU ARE

• Matric (Grade 12)
• A bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field would be an advantage.
• Experienced in a similar role or industry can be a significant advantage. 
• Previous SAP experience.
• Proficiency in the use of Microsoft office tools i.e., Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
• Preferable knowledge of Global Principle or Intercompany Model would be an advantage.
• Experience in working in a customer-focused and fast-paced professional environment.
• Strong negotiation and influencing skills, with the ability to build trust.
