    Health And Safety Officer

    Job Description

    Main purpose of role is to manage and implement the Health & Safety Program at BKB Wool and Mohair in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety act 85 of 1993.

    Minimum requirements:

    • Matric
    • Knowledge of Health and Safety requirements as per OHS act 85 of 1993
    • Knowledge of training in ISO 9001 / 14001
    • In debt knowledge of ISO
    • Valid driver licence
    • Good computer literacy especially Microsoft Office
    • Fluent in English (Read, write, speak)

    Experience

    • 1-3yr working experience as a Health & Safety Officer or similar.

    KEY FUNCTIONS:

    • Ensure compliance with all Health and safety documents.
    • Ensure a professional health and safety system which is ready for audits.
    • Health and safety training and staff compliance. To ensure a workforce who understands/ adhere the Health and Safety requirements.
    • Health and safety appointments To ensure that appointed staff perform their duties as required.
    • Health and safety meetings and communication. Conduct meetings at prescribed intervals as per Company Policy.
    • Accidents and incidents. Ensure all accidents and incidents are investigated, reported, managed and registered according to legal requirements.
    • Health and safety inspections. Conduct site inspection, identify gaps and implement action plans to rectify.
    • ISO: 9001 / 14001. To maintain the IMS and ensure it is updated and maintained for audit purpose.

    Livestock Commission Agent - Aliwal North

    Job Description

    • BKB is currently seeking experienced and reliable Commission Agent who will be responsible for the marketing of livestock and building of good relationships with clients.  The incumbent will also be responsible for procurement of auctions, out-of-hand-transactions, assisting fellow colleagues at auctions and other ad hoc tasks.  To ensure a positive image of the organisation through professional, effective and innovative services.

    QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE:

    • Agricultural Diploma/Degree with 3 years’ marketing experience
    • At least 3 years’ experience in the Livestock environment

    SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

    • Ability to work independently combined with excellent interpersonal skills
    • Strong sales, negotiation and communication skills

    • Gathering of producer information to facilitate effective planning of marketing
