    Apprenticeship Program - Millwright

    Job Purpose

    • You will optimize mixing specifications and compounds to achieve the most consistent extrusion and calendaring results and adequate tack levels of components reaching the tyre assembly department with emphasis placed on waste and scrap reduction meeting budgeted objectives.

    • Grade 12/N3 Certificate 
    • N2-N6 in Engineering Studies (Must)

    Production Learnership Program

     Job Purpose

    • You will be reporting directly to the Production Foreman. This is a local role based in Brits. As a Production Learner you will adhere to safety regulations and specification standards required to assemble a tyre within the targeted cycle time during the learnership programme.

    Responsibilities:

    • Risk assessment of the equipment
    • Wear provided PPE
    • Maintain 3S in your work area
    • Check all controls at the building machine are in good working order
    • Remove empty spools, trolleys, rolls, et cetera from the machine
    • Returns empties to component section
    • Push viewed raw covers in to storage bays
    • Supply solutions to machine
    • Work in a team order
    • Produce within a team the required target under the programme scope

    Qualifications & Experience Required

    Buyer-Brits

    Job Purpose

    • You will effectively manage the end-to-end purchasing process for stock and non-stock items by creating and processing Purchase Orders in SAP, executing competitive bidding and cost-saving initiatives, expediting supplier deliveries, and ensuring timely fulfilment of internal customer requirements while complying with negotiated contracts and Bridgestone procurement standards. The Buyer is responsible for operational procurement activities that support plant operations and business continuity. This role focuses on transactional purchasing, supplier coordination, cost optimization through bid systems, and stakeholder engagement. The Buyer works closely with Sourcing Specialists, suppliers, and internal end users to ensure quality, cost, delivery, and technology objectives are met.

    Responsibilities:

    Procurement Execution

    • Create, release, and manage POs in SAP in compliance with procurement policies.
    • Ensure accuracy of pricing, quantities, delivery dates, and contract references.

    Supplier Management & Expediting

    • Communicate with suppliers to confirm orders and delivery schedules.
    • Proactively follow up on overdue or at-risk deliveries and resolve supply issues.

    Cost Saving & Bid Management

    • Run RFQs and tenders via the bid system.
    • Perform cost analysis and benchmarking to identify savings opportunities.
    • Support implementation and tracking of cost-saving initiatives.

    Stakeholder Engagement

    • Liaise with internal end users to clarify requirements and delivery expectations.
    • Provide regular order status updates and resolve procurement-related queries.

    Supplier Onboarding & Compliance

    • Assist with new supplier selection and onboarding processes.
    • Ensure suppliers comply with Bridgestone standards, policies, and system requirements.

    Qualifications & Experience Required

    Education, Master, other certification:

    • Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field.
    • SAP (MM module) experience is essential.
    • CIPS or equivalent procurement qualification (advantageous).

    Senior Sourcing Specialist-Brits

    Job Purpose

    • You will be responsible for managing the full sourcing lifecycle, including supplier strategy development, contract negotiation and management, supplier performance management, and continuous cost improvement. This role ensures all procurement contracts are commercially sound, compliant, and accurately maintained within SAP, while driving long-term supplier partnerships aligned with Bridgestone’s quality, cost, delivery, and technology objectives.

    Responsibilities:
    Strategic Sourcing & Category Management

    • Develop sourcing strategies aligned with business objectives and demand forecasts.
    • Conduct market analysis, benchmarking, and total cost of ownership evaluations.
    • Identify and implement sourcing opportunities that reduce cost and supply risk.

    Contract Management & Negotiation

    • Lead commercial negotiations with suppliers covering pricing, service levels, lead times, and contractual terms.
    • Draft, review, award, and manage supplier contracts and long-term agreements.
    • Ensure contract compliance and governance throughout the contract lifecycle.
    • Maintain contract data, pricing conditions, and validity periods accurately in SAP.

    Supplier Performance Management

    • Define, track, and review supplier KPIs (cost, quality, delivery, service, innovation).
    • Facilitate monthly supplier KPI review meetings and follow up on corrective actions.
    • Drive supplier development plans to improve performance and competitiveness.

    Cost Saving & Value Improvement

    • Identify, validate, and deliver cost-saving initiatives through negotiations, re-sourcing, standardization, and value engineering.
    • Track and report realized and forecasted savings in line with procurement targets.

    Supplier Vetting, Auditing & Compliance

    • Lead supplier pre-qualification, vetting, and onboarding approval processes.
    • Conduct supplier audits (quality, financial, ESG, compliance) as required.
    • Ensure suppliers comply with Bridgestone standards, policies, and ethical requirements.

    Qualifications & Experience Required

    Education, Master, other certification:

    • Degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Engineering, Business, or related field.
    • Professional procurement qualification (CIPS or equivalent) is preferred.
    • Strong experience in strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, and supplier management.
    • SAP procurement and contract management experience is essential.

    • Strong contract management and governance skills.
