    Unit Manager Paediatrics

    Job Description

    Job Summary:

    • To take responsibility for efficiently leading all activities within the Unit, providing leadership and direction to all staff, and promoting quality patient care and patient experience through operational excellence whilst maintain the highest standards of professionalism and respect.
    • In addition, to ensure cost effective service delivery within legal parameters, policies and procedures.

    Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

    • B. Cur/Diploma in General Nursing.
    • Current registration with South African Nursing Council.
    • Post basic qualification in Neo Natal Critical Care.
    • Bcur ED Admin qualification
    • BLS qualification.
    • Further Business Management qualification advantageous.
    • Updated ACLS/PALS/ATLS advantageous.

    Job Description

    Job Summary:

    • The Registered Nurse will promote and deliver quality patient care and wellness in accordance with industry standards and to execute Nursing duties within the standards, procedures and protocols set down by the South African Nursing Council and Scope of Practice.

    Night Supervisor

    Job Description

    Job Summary:

    • The night Supervisor will accept full overall accountability for the hospital at night ensuring a safe environment for all patients, staff and stakeholders.
    • The incumbent will assume responsibility for all reasonable operational activities in the absence of other Managers ensuring that all Company policies and procedures, and all legal requirements ,are adhered to.
    • Accordingly, the incumbent will be accountable for capacity development mentoring and training of night staff.

    Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

    • Nursing degree/diploma
    • Current SANC registration
    • Any management or relevant business education
    • Updated ACLS/PALS/ATLS/BLS
    • 5+ years’ experience at managerial/supervisory level
    • Experience within private hospital environment (preferable)
    • Computer literate.

    Minimum Duties:

    • Implement the nursing strategy in order to drive the strategic nursing plan and align night staff outputs accordingly, assess patient acuity at all wards during the night and determine resource needs for the following day.
    • Monitor the safety and care delivered by staff, including agency staff, identify quality improvement and implement opportunities to improve quality service delivery at night.
    • Conduct regular ward rounds, including monitoring equipment, audits and patient environment checks.
    • Co-ordinate after hour admissions and ensure effective recordkeeping and handover the next morning.
    • Issue medication and manage the stock levels of Emergency Pharmacy Cupboard.
