    Snr UX / UCD Designer

    Senior UX/UCD Designer

We are looking for enthusiastic Senior UX Designer to join their newly formed product department.

As the Senior UX Designer you will be involved in scoping, designing and evolving a brand-new platform, that strikes a balance between the internal user needs and requirements, and objectives of the business. This role offers a unique opportunity to be part of a new product team, working to shape and influence a product from the early stages.

The Senior UX Designer will have in-depth UCD (User-centred Design) experience working on complex products — preferably in the enterprise tooling/platform space. Any experience in designing tools with a workflow/service design angle too is advantageous. The designer will be a true team player; flexible, positive and a willingness to collaborate in varying sized groups — teaming with others from different disciplines. Their attitude and approach to tackling design challenges are probably the most important aspects of this role.
The designer will have worked on projects from inception through to research, testing and delivery. We are seeking candidates who happily get their hands stuck into creating and iterating core UX design deliverables; whether it be user journeys, task flows, system/site mapping, concepts, wireframes or lean prototypes – depending on the challenge at hand.
They will be advocates of a considered design process, yet flexible enough to adapt their approach to deliver artefacts in as lean a manner as possible, in order drive the product forward.

They will be strong advocates of evidence-based design decision-making; through data, research, observation and insight. They will be used to working with C-suite and senior stakeholders, as well as engaging with users and our resident UX researcher — to drive the product forward. They will be used to testing and iterating their product concepts with users and have proven experience in conducting user research and analysis too. The Senior UX Designer should have the following experience:

    • Excellent UX skills across the UCD spectrum, working experience and advocates of evidence-based design decision-making through research and observation.
    • In-depth knowledge and evidence via portfolio/case studies of having worked with data, testing, research and analytics
    • 6+ years industry experience working within a digital process/function, either client or agency-side (or preferably a combination).
    • Proven product/platform design experience.
    • Experienced and able to work in each of the stages of product design from discovery and research to design, test and measuring the impact of said solution/idea.
    • Experience working with Agile, Lean UX methodologies and concept of MVP.
    • Experience or awareness of media (offline/digital media highly advantageous, but not essential).
    • Ability to clearly and effectively communicate design processes, ideas, and solutions to teams and internal stakeholders.
    • Experience and understanding of design system thinking.
    • Basic understanding of Front End technologies: HTML, CSS, REACT, JavaScript would be an added bonus.
    • Worked with Product Managers, the business and technical teams to determine different approaches to support business solutions.
    • Strong experience in prototyping; including experience with tools like Axure & InVision.
    • Excellent core UX/IA-driven skills. This is not a Visual design role.

We are keen to see portfolios which have detailed examples of concepts, research, prototyping, testing and measurement.
