    Data Modelling and Reporting Analyst

    As Data Modelling and Reporting Analyst you will be involved in designing, documenting and testing new and existing data solutions within JUMO’s data warehouse and reporting platforms. Soon our platform will be acquiring data for over 150 million GSM and mobile money users from globally distributed sources, consuming data from interactive and batch processes. As a Data Modelling & Reporting Analyst, you’ll help contribute to our mission of financial inclusion by extracting maximum predictive value from data assets. You will be based in Cape Town and will report to Data Modelling & Reporting Team Lead.

    If you join us, you’ll

    • Support the design, testing and implementation of pipelines that constitute JUMO's data platform, enabling effective use of data across the organisation
    • Interact with business users at all levels to understand their needs and to provide advice on areas where value can be added
    • Be responsible for creating robust data processing models used to effectively manage the technical delivery of business needs
    • Perform quality assurance on new and existing data sets and pipelines to discover inconsistencies, anomalies in order to guide problem resolution and data cleansing exercises
    • Assist with the design and delivery of Reporting solutions for both internal and external consumption including various regulatory bodies
    • Use your data analytic skill to design and implement data platform performance metrics
    • Work closely with Portfolio Managers and Data Scientists to understand the real world problems we're trying to solve
    • Mentor juniors and be supported by senior leaders as you drive your own development

    What you’ll need

    • 3+ years experience with data and/or systems analysis experience, at least some within a formal BI environment
    • Proven ability in analytics, business acumen and presenting / communicating recommendations across all organization levels
    • Real-world understanding of data processing and storage
    • University degree in Business or Mathematics or Statistics or Informatics or equivalent industry training and experience.
    • RDBMS experience in any relevant technology such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redshift and SQL Server
    • Experience creating stored procedures
    • Intermediate – Advanced Excel skills
    • Understanding of IT Governance, Project Management methodologies and QA standards
    • Experience with reporting and business intelligence software such as Tableau, Power BI, Grafana, Superset
    • Critical thinking under pressure

    Bonus if you have 

    • Experience in application design and development with at least one of the following languages: Python (preferred), Scala, Java
    • Experience with big-data technologies such as Cassandra, DynamoDB, InfluxDB, MongoDB, Presto, Apache Spark, Hadoop, Beam, Flink, Kafka or Kinesis
    • Experience designing services on the AWS and/or GCP platform

    Strategic Partnerships Manager // Capital & Banking

    As Strategic Partnerships Manager // Capital & Banking you will be part of a high-performance team that is responsible for creating and developing strategic partnerships with financial services providers to drive financial inclusion in Africa. You will report to the Head of Partnerships // Capital & Banking. The role can be based in South Africa, or in any of our live markets in Africa (Ghana, Zambia, Tanzania, Uganda or Kenya).

    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with specific financial service provider counterparties by being the main point of contact
    • Explain the benefits of a partnership utilising sound banking and financial services knowledge with an ability to talk to portfolio strategy, reporting, compliance and data analytics

    As Group Head of Partnerships // Capital & Banking you will be accountable for building and leading a high-performance team that is responsible for creating and developing high value strategic partnerships with financial services providers in our African markets. You can be based in Cape Town, South Africa or Accra, Ghana and will report to the Africa CEO.

    Purpose 

    To create and develop strategic partnerships with financial services providers to drive inclusive digital finance establishing the ideal partner value proposition ensuring the optimisation of product roll out, portfolio growth, achievement of revenue goals and management of risk in line with the partnership agreement.

    • Africa Region Retail Banking Partnership Strategy.
    • Key Partner Account KPIs and target setting and delivery in line with commercial plans. 
    • Key Partner Account expansion and development leveraging the JUMO tech stack to realise partner DFS/MFS strategies.  

    Key responsibilities

    • Develop and advance strong relationships with key financial service provider counterparties to facilitate them running and building their DFS/MFS products on the JUMO technology stack. 
    • Ensure a robust FSP Partner Value Proposition framework that is transferable and allows JUMO Africa FSP Partners flexibility to execute their strategies in line with the product, risk and other policy requirements. 
    • Ensure comprehensive partner on-boarding strategy including continued use of JUMO Partner Products for portfolio strategy, reporting, compliance and data analytics.
    • Build and continually improved standardised processes to monitor and assess the overall performance against agreed KPIs to identify opportunities to further optimise portfolio growth, partner profitability, CVP expansion, customer utility and to enable long term growth of the digital ecosystem.
    • Drive collaboration and shared consciousness with all internal cross functional teams to ensure all legal, regulatory, data, product, marketing, customer insights, finance and operations requirements are carefully considered to achieve FSP Partner revenue goals and manage risk.
    • Ensure sustainability of FSP partnerships through identification and selection of new, mutually beneficial market opportunities in line with the JUMO business model.

    • Very deep understanding and experience of financial products and performance, including credit risk, portfolio management, financial product design (dynamics of lending, saving and some insurance). 
    • Strong leadership experience, both building teams as well as enabling teams. 
    • Deep understanding and experience of doing business in Africa with proven networks within the commercial and banking business sector.

    Application Security Specialist

    As Application Security Specialist you will be proactively contributing to building and maintaining secure platforms. We run a modern, cloud-native technology stack built for scale. You’ll work closely with our development, infrastructure and engineering teams to bring the Sec to DevSecOps and increase the velocity of secure development and deployment. You will be based in Cape Town and will report to the Chief Information Security Officer.

    • Hack the planet – get your hands dirty and pull apart code, whether it is application, mobile, platform, container or cloud infrastructure - and look for bugs.
    • Secure application development – integrate security practices into the software development lifecycle, verify the security of internally and externally developed applications and services during and after development and deployment. Actively participate in the SDLC though guidance, education, input and facilitation. Create standards aligned to BSIMM and ISO.
    • Threat model – enhance and optimise infrastructure, platform, application and mobile security by identifying threats, vulnerabilities and associated countermeasures.
    • Respond to incidents – participate in the identification and response to security incidents, including containment and investigation.
    • Train and raise awareness – create and manage learning and reference materials and exercises to formally educate JUMOnauts on application and cyber security. Help define and implement policies and standards. Work with other members of the team to raise awareness of, and give context to, the threats facing JUMO, our systems and information assets.
    • Maintain and enhance toolsets – manage the relevant tools required for mature application security that include pen testing, secure coding, source code analysis and vulnerability management. Investigate new approaches, technology and automation to challenge traditional thinking and raise the level of security.

    What you’ll need

    • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in penetration testing, threat hunting and red teaming
    • Experience with tools such as Burp Suite, Checkmarx, Cobalt Strike and Metasploit
    • Knowledge of Rails, Python, Android and iOS
    • Demonstrated track record of applying technical knowledge to help improve security
    • Ability to adapt and take on new tasks and challenges
