    Group Financial Manager

    Key responsibilities:

    • IFRS Expertise:
    • Demonstrate strong knowledge and hands-on experience with IFRS, focusing on the preparation and consolidation of AFS.
    • Consolidation Support:
    • Assist with consolidating financial statements for year-end, including intercompany eliminations and adjustments.
    • Oversight:
    • Provide guidance and oversight to junior finance staff, ensuring work adheres to IFRS standards.
    • Audit Preparation:
    • Prepare schedules, supporting documentation, and liaise with external auditors during the audit process.
    • Reporting:
    • Ensure timely and accurate year-end reporting, including comprehensive disclosures in line with IFRS requirements.

    Skills and Experience:

    • IFRS & Consolidation:
    • Proven expertise in IFRS, financial reporting, and consolidations, particularly within listed entities.
    • CA(SA) Designation:
    • Chartered Accountant qualification is a requirement.
    • Supervisory Experience:
    • Demonstrated ability to review and guide junior staff.
    • Audit Readiness:
    • Experience in preparing financials for external audits.
    • Advanced Excel:
    • High proficiency in Excel for financial reporting purposes.
    • Availability During Peak Period:
    • Willingness to work long hours and attend the office daily during the December to February peak period.

    Group Reporting Accountant

    Key responsibilities:

    • Group Financial Reporting:
    • Oversee and ensure the accuracy, completeness, and compliance of consolidated financial reports across multiple jurisdictions and currencies including group taxation calculations.
    • Technical Accounting Expertise:
    • Act as the in-house expert on IFRS, providing guidance on complex accounting matters and ensuring alignment with international standards.
    • Multicurrency Consolidations:
    • Manage the consolidation of financial statements from diverse entities within the group, maintaining rigorous standards for accuracy and consistency.
    • Stakeholder Collaboration:
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, external auditors, and management to ensure alignment on reporting requirements and deadlines.
    • Audit Support:
    • Provide support for the audit process by liaising with external auditors, ensuring clear communication and timely resolution of queries related to group consolidations.
    • Continuous Improvement:
    • Identify and implement process improvements to streamline reporting timelines, enhance accuracy, and support strategic initiatives.

    Qualifications

    • Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)) qualification is essential.

    Experience and Skills

    • Minimum of 3-5 years in a group reporting role for a multinational, listed company, with a focus on consolidations and multicurrency financial reporting;
    • Alternatively, experience as an Audit Manager, having worked with complex clients and multiple consolidations;
    • Strong IFRS technical knowledge with demonstrated expertise in the application of accounting standards;
    • Proficient in managing audits and supporting complex client needs.

    • Self-motivated and able to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams;

    Head of Assets

    Key responsibilities:

    • Asset Management Strategy:
    • Oversee the lifecycle management of assets, from acquisition and utilisation to disposal, ensuring optimal use of company resources.
    • Capex Management and Reporting:
    • Plan, oversee, and report on capital expenditures, ensuring that projects remain within budget and align with strategic priorities;
    • Prepare detailed CapEx reports, analysing ROI and the financial impact of asset-related projects for senior management and stakeholders.
    • Asset Valuation and Financial Reporting:
    • ​​​​​​​Oversee the valuation of assets to maintain accurate financial records in compliance with relevant accounting standards;
    • Ensure timely and accurate reporting of assets in financial statements and management reports;
    • Provide detailed analysis and insights into asset performance and depreciation schedules.
    • Budgeting and Forecasting:
    • ​​​​​​​Lead the asset-related budgeting process, ensuring accurate forecasts and alignment with company financial plans;
    • Monitor asset expenditure against budget and manage any variances through in-depth analysis and reporting.
    • Compliance and Risk Management:
    • ​​​​​​​Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, accounting standards, and company policies regarding asset management;
    • Identify and mitigate risks associated with asset management and CapEx processes, maintaining a robust internal control environment.
    • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • ​​​​​​​Collaborate with procurement, operations, and finance teams to align asset management practices with operational needs;
    • Act as a key point of contact for senior leadership, providing strategic advice and updates on asset management initiatives.
    • System and Process Optimisation:
    • ​​​​​​​Evaluate and recommend systems and tools to enhance asset management practices and streamline CapEx reporting;
    • Implement process improvements to increase the efficiency and accuracy of asset tracking and financial reporting.

    Qualifications and Experience:

    • ​​​​​​​Education: Chartered Accountant (CA) designation is required;
    • Experience:Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in financial management or capex management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role;
    • Proven track record in overseeing CapEx and asset reporting.

    Skills:

    • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills;
    • Advanced proficiency in financial reporting tools and software (e.g., SAP, SAGE, or similar systems);
    • Excellent leadership, team management, and communication skills;
    • High attention to detail with the ability to synthesise complex financial data for decision-making.

    Other Requirements:

    • In-depth knowledge of relevant accounting standards (e.g., IFRS) and asset valuation practices;
    • Ability to work collaboratively across functions and with senior leadership;
    • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and prioritise tasks effectively.
