    Job Description

    • We are looking for a forward-thinking and innovative leader capable of fostering strong stakeholder engagement, enhancing institutional visibility, and building enduring relationships that support the University’s long-term sustainability and impact.
    • This position provides strategic leadership in elevating and safeguarding the reputation and public image of the University through the development, coordination, and effective execution of integrated communication, brand/marketing, alumni relations, and partnership strategies.
    • The incumbent will contribute meaningfully to advancing the University’s vision, mission, and overarching institutional goals.

    The Requirements
    A relevant B. Degree (NQF level 7, a postgraduate qualification would be an advantage) plus approximately 7 years’ relevant experience, which includes: -

    • Previous experience in leading high-performance communications, brand and fundraising teams at a senior level, ideally in an agency.
    • Demonstrable success in the development of communication, brand, storytelling and fundraising strategies for both internal and external communities.
    • Demonstrable success in fundraising or in any position where the achievement of revenue targets and the sustainable development of commercial relationships is seen as core to the success of the position.
    • Demonstrable success in running projects aimed at achieving support for philanthropic programmes.
    • Experience in sophisticated communications environments where exposure to global best practice across all forms of media has been achieved.
    • Evidence of the ability to influence and confidently advise diverse stakeholder groups.

    Researcher/Senior Researcher in the Critical Studies in Sexualities and Reproduction (CSSR)

    Job Description

    The Requirements

    Researcher (6-hours per day)

    • PhD in Psychology
    • Registration as a Counselling Psychologist with the HPCSA for at least three years.
    • Experience in working as a Counselling Psychologist.
    • Sufficient knowledge of the following approaches:
    • Qualitative research with a critical health psychology focus.
    • Engaged research/participatory research.
    • Experience in working in a secondary school environment is a distinct advantage.
    • Experience facilitating sexuality education at a secondary school level or with out-of-school youth.
    • Good research and publication record in appropriate academic and/or professional journals, books/book chapters. Good publication record
    • Ability to supervise postgraduate students is required.
    • Evidence of presentations at national and preferably international conferences.
    • Evidence of having conducted engaged or participatory research.
    • Evidence of research leadership and administration.

    Senior Researcher (5-hours per day)

    • PhD in Psychology.
    • Registration as a Counselling Psychologist with the HPCSA for at least three years.
    • Experience in working as a Counselling Psychologist.
    • Sufficient knowledge of the following approaches:
    • Qualitative research with a critical health psychology focus.
    • Engaged research/participatory research.
    • Experience in working in a secondary school environment is a distinct advantage.

    • A very good publication record. Substantial research and publication record in appropriate academic and/or professional journals, books/book chapters.
    • Research supervision experience up to at least a Master's degree completion is required.

    • Evidence of having conducted engaged or participatory research.
    • Evidence of research leadership and administration.

    Readvertisement: Lecturer (nGap) Department of Computer Science

    Main Objectives

    • All academics are responsible for the dissemination of knowledge (teaching and learning), creation of knowledge (research) and community engagement, recognising that there are differences in the execution of these responsibilities within the various departments and Faculties. 
    • Academics are also expected to assume some administrative, management and/or leadership duties at the departmental, Faculty and/or University level, and contribute to their profession. 

    The Requirements 

    • At least a Master’s degree in a technical research field of Computer Science (security, machine learning, or high-performance computing). Preference will be given to candidates with a PhD or who have made significant progress towards completing a PhD in a technical research field (as above) of Computer Science.
    • Tutoring, facilitation, or conference presentation experience required. No teaching experience is required, but teaching experience in a technical area of Computer Science, including programming, will be an advantage.
    • No research supervision is required.
    • Emerging track record of research publication and/or conference presentations
    • Some administrative or management experience, albeit in informal contexts, e.g., student or sports clubs, work experience.
