    Artisan Gr 1 Millwright x2

    Purpose of Job

    • To support KZN gas pipelines by ensuring effective electro-mechanical maintenance and equipment reliability, while complying with safety procedures, engineering standards, and maintenance systems to improve plant and mining sustainability.

    Key Accountabilities

    • Perform electro-mechanical maintenance on Pressure Reduction Stations (PRS), High Pressure Customer Metering Station (HPCMS) and Customer Metering Stations (CMS) equipment in accordance to Work Management System (WMS).
    • Contribute to maintenance strategy and sustainability initiatives
    • Conduct statutory inspection, calibration and maintenance on gas stations.
    • Maintain and utilize maintenance documentation systems
    • Apply planning and work management systems effectively
    • Inspection of gas stations and equipment
    • Provides adequate feedback to supervisor on work progress.
    • Capture accurate maintenance history and spares replacement data
    • Ordering of spares and equipment.
    • Scoping and planning of general running plant equipment outages
    • Ensure quality control on all work done during general running plant equipment outages
    • Participate and support the execution of pipeline projects.
    • Respond to breakdowns and evaluation on repair vs. replacement of defective equipment
    • Apply emergency and safety procedures
    • Play an appropriate main role during emergency situations
    • Conduct emergency repairs on mechanical, electrical and instrument equipment
    • Ability to read and interpret electrical and instrument diagrams, mechanical flow diagrams (MFD`s)
    • Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and provide feedback
    • Attends and participates in PDAs and RCAs
    • Ensure compliance with Safety Management Systems (IMS, MBO, etc.)
    • Perform My IMS physical inspections
    • Identify hazards and conduct task risk assessments
    • Maintain good housekeeping and waste management standards
    • Comply to safety standards/codes and ensure world class housekeeping
    • Support continuous improvement of plant safety and reliability
    • Review and revise work instructions (WI’s)
    • Participate in daily toolbox talks and morning meetings
    • Give and receive feedback to other disciplines (partners on daily issues).
    • Stakeholder relationship management.
    • Ensure service providers comply with all legal requirements (codes, regulations, laws, etc.)
    • Take the lead in team tasks when required
    • Prepared to work in a team (different disciplines)
    • Share technical knowledge within the team
    • Mentor junior artisans and learners
    • Conduct standby duties and work overtime when required
    • Travel to remote areas within KZN (Newcastle & Durban) to conduct maintenance and emergency response requirements (prepared to stay overnight)
    • Work unsupervised adhering to time management principles.
    • Operate Crane truck and have the ability to Rig small loads (>5000kg)

    Formal Education

    • Grade 12 with Maths, Science and English or N3 Maths & Engineering Science (must)
    • Millwright trade test certificate (must)
    • NQF4 certificate in mechanical/electrical/instrumentation (wish/preference)
    • Valid Code 10 drivers' license and ability to drive and obtain a PDP (must)
    • Tool of Trade:  Toolkit for electro-mechanic artisan (must) 

    Working Experience

    • 3+ Minimum years of relevant experience in a similar work environment
    • PtW issuing competency
    • Safety Standby and Gas monitor experience
    • OSH Act experience
    • Computer literacy
    • Earthing systems
    • Alarm systems
    • Cathodic protection systems
    • NACE CP1 certified

    Process Controller Gr 2

    Purpose of Job

    • To operate process equipment and systems at Komatipoort compressor station within the Sasol environment to achieve production requirements in a safe manner.

    Key Accountabilities

    • Operate processes at Komatipoort compressor station
    • Start up and shutdown processes according to standard operating procedures (SOP)
    • Operate plant and equipment under normal operating conditions as per SOP’s
    • Communicate and assist team members in controlling the plant process
    • Perform sampling for quality testing and fault finding purposes
    • Perform inspections on equipment (valves, pumps, vessels, etc.)
    • Examine equipment and complete safety checklists and procedures to maintain and improve plant stability
    • Identify and correct abnormal conditions in the plant
    • Commission and de-commission plant equipment and systems (New projects, plant modifications and pre/post maintenance work)
    • Adhere to SHERQ standards
    • Comply with legal requirements
    • Loading and off-loading of hazardous and non-hazardous products/ chemicals
    • Execute tasks safely and economically
    • Report and respond to incidents, hazardous conditions and/or emergencies
    • Identify and report deviations and all unsafe conditions to Foreman
    • Loading and prioritization of SAP notifications
    • Conduct fault finding and incident investigations
    • Adhere to permit to work procedure
    • Issue permits (if required) and perform safe making duties
    • Conduct basic risk assessments
    • Exchange information on process conditions at handover (completion of log sheets)
    • Perform overtime and be on shift cover when required
    • Complete training as per training matrix requirements
    • Practice good housekeeping
    • Take lead during emergency exercise / response onsite
    • Assists with the review and development of SOP’s
    • Conducts on the job coaching of learners and team members
    • Work 12-hour shifts

    Formal Education

    • Grade 12 with Maths, Science and English / N3 certificate (must)
    • NQF4 certificate in Chemical Operations (must)
    • Valid Driver’s license – Min Code 08 (must)

    Working Experience

    • 3+ years relevant experience in a similar work environment
    • PtW issuing competency
    • Safety Standby and Gas monitor experience
    • OSH Act experience
    • Computer literacy
    • Basic hand tools
